Graphicproblems with Textes

<p>Hello - uh it's time to blow all the dust from my english-knowledge ...I've got a bad problem and I hope someone here has got some tipps for me to fix it.Since about three weeks I've got some blocks or graphical elements instead of letters on the gamescreen.Group-playing or reading large quest-texts is nearly impossible.(see pictures)</p><p><a href="http://www.garkeine.de/Image1.jpg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.garkeine.de/Image1.jpg</a><img src="http://www.garkeine.de/Image1.jpg" alt="" width="498" height="310" border="0" /></p><p>Has anyone some tipps for me?</p><p>(WinXP SP2 / GF6600 newest drivers)</p><p>THanks</p><p>Mathias</p>

ok i could reply in english... but... hallo, hast du ein custom ui? falls ja, tritt das problem mit dem default ui auch auf? falls nein, hast du die neueste version des custom ui? hast du das problem auch in anderen spielen? hast du full file scan gemacht? (option dafuer ist irgendwo im launchpad)

<p>Hi Killerbee,</p><p>also in german ... <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><german>jupp - ich habe die thorui am laufen - immer mit frischestem Update (via cronjob jede nacht).Das Problem taucht aber auch in der default-ui auf.EQ2 ist tatsächlich das einzige Game mit dem ich Probleme habe - wobei ich sonst lediglich ab und an UT(2) spiele.Den Fullscan habe ich noch nicht gemacht - das ist eine Option die ich nachher gleich mal versuchen werde.Danke Mathias</german></p><p>Yes indeed - I've got always the newest version of thorui - it's updated regulary every night via cron.But the problem is also existing with the default-ui.Eq2 is the only game with this Problem on my computer (Ut2 is btw. the only game i'm playing beside EQ)I actually didn't do this full filescan, but I'll try this option when I'm home tonight.</p><p>tymathias</p>

Do those strange characters appear in other windows too?Your picture shows the chat window which uses the Windows Arial font I believe. Do other fonts have the same problem?It looks like you have smooth fonts off. Does the problem happen with smooth fonts on?Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLereVaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

<p>Yes they do, even the 'mouseover' descriptions of goods ans spells are unreadable.I tried vector-fonts and 'small-fonts' too - not getting any advantage <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>I did a complete reinstall ogf EQ2 now -  next step will be to do a complete OS-reinstall( <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />(( ).</p><p>cya</p><p>mathias</p>

You may have a corrupted or incompatible Windows font. You may need to reinstall the fonts from your Windows disc if you have one, or perhaps from your backup partition if your system came with one. You might want to try microsoft.com for information on restoring system files.I hope this helps you. Best regards,Richard

Hi Richard,I reinstalled this Fonts from the Windows CD, but the situation didn't get better.So I installed Windows new on another partition, that works now with EQ.I wonder if any prob with windows was  the reason for this .thx and cyamathias
