I know I know there are a ton of duo threads and I have looked at many of them. My wife and I both have the same days off and on our days off we would like to form hands down a duo that can experience the most content. It doesn't matter which classes as we are MMO vets and enjoy all types of classes. We played EQ1 for a number of years as well as.. ahem.. WoW for a couple of years. In your opinion, regardless of being evil or good which duo could do the most content. We love to explore as a duo and we love to try to maximize what a duo can do. Thanks!

My wife and I are in the same boat - only we are pretty new to the MMO thing - this actually being her first.I am also interested in what others say on this. We are currently running a Conj/Illusionist duo - but are only level 5/6 so we can start over without any real pain at all. We are just trying to figure out the UI and how to move around than anything. The question regarding content is also a great one: I want to play this game with her to explore and enjoy the world...not just level and grind and DPS the best.

Easiest duo would obviously be a plate tank & healer. Berserker/fury for example would have good damage output on both characters.. with healing thrown in. Can go guardian instead to tank better, and warden to heal a bit better.

However, that said... the *best* duo is the one you have most fun playing. You can experience most content (with the exception of raids) with a most duo's as long as you take the time to learn the classes you play and come up with a strategy that works. There is so much content out there you'd struggle to do it all without disabling xp anyway.

Conjourer / Illusionist is a good pair... or perhaps Conj / Necro ! My wif and I have tried that pair and found them to be extremely powerful and supportive of each other.

Other than that, the standard tank and healer combo is always good... Fury / Berserker would work well together.

Erithorn

If the only concern was the content you could experience....I think wizard and either illusionist or coercer would be able to do the most things at end game in a duo configuration. It might not work out as well at lower levels because both classes get much better at soloing in end game.

Most duos will work. You'll just need to decide how you plan to tackle content. When I started my duo with my brother I wanted these areas covered (again these are only my views and so probably won't be as important for other players); healing, tanking, debuffing mobs and of course some viable DPS. We eventually settled on Berserker (tanking)/Mystic (healing and slowing) knowing we both needed achievement points to really get over the DPS hump for those two classes. However this became a non-issue for us as we both xp locked and had us both full with DPS templates before we were even 20.

The only drawback I see to it is that mystics don't have power regen and duoing can lead to long fights. Of course the dps might make it worthwhile, and the mystic dogs do help out on heals a ton

My brother and I play mostly as a Duo him a Paladin and me a Fury. He holds agro fine, and can do some limited healing of himself if I get behind, escpecially love his instant heal if something happens to me. Throw in that he can rez even when I forget to give him a feather and his buffs and the Pally is a nice package.

The Fury gets a group stealth, a mitiation butt, and Inteligence buffs, and a nice group ae melee damage add, on top of the heals. As with HOT's (Heal over time) I can be doing damage while he is still being healed. Oh and of course don't forget the ability to portal, so we can get to wherever we want pretty quickly.

Were not min/maxers, so there may be other classes that would be better, but we make our way through and have fun doing it.

My brother and I duo as Inquisitor and Brigand, both in the mid 20's focusing on AA gain. The Brigand group stealth ability really makes things move along easier. Also, our AA choices help to define the way we play together as well. Being that we are also very well-geared, we can tackle most blue ^^^ named's, though a few still give us a welcome challenge. In my opinion, your success will depend on how well you combine your skills, regardless of what you choose. Though as others have said, a plate-wearer and a healer-type is definately a plus!!! My 2cents.

I personally feel that the Tank / Healer duo is more effective. While it is possible to duo some Mages together for serious DPS, I think that you'll have the opportunity to experience more content with a Tank and Healer. It will become more pronounced as you advance in levels. Early on (Level 40 or less), most anything works.Specifically?Yea, I'd go with Berserker / Mystic. While this combo won't start out quite as strong, once the Mystic gets his AGI AA line completed and then fills in the Combat AA's . . . wow.

If you really want to experience the most content right from the start, I recommend turning off combat experience and work quests by level from the lowest to the highest. Also, whatever faction you want to end up on, start with the opposite faction and betray. That way you can buy all books from both sides for those quests as well.My husband and I duo and are more interested in exploring and questing than leveling, so that's what we do. Some of our best duos have been the shadowknight/defiler, and, funnily enough, a defiler/inquisitor *laughs*. Our mains are a necro/berzerker combo, but we do run into trouble occasionally without healing, mostly only on heroic mobs, though.

My wife and I have duo-ed pretty much exclusively since launch. For the first couple years, we played a Warden/Zerk duo. It was fun, and we did okay. However, the xp at about 50 really started to crawl.

On a whim, we decided it might be fun if we each played the same (evil) class. We each created a necro. Now, on the surface, this may sound rather boring... but I'll tell you, we've had a blast. And our necros have done extremely well together. Essentially, we have a full group on most fights. There's me, her, my pet, her pet, my pack animals, her pack animals, and the spell that brings a zombie into the fray. We've really had loads of fun playing two necros... and they make a mean pair. We have tank pets, DPS pets, minor heals, and dps ourselves. I often wonder what a full group of necros could accomplish.

And the bonus is our fun spells. We take the form of skellies, then have our skellie pets... we look like a horde of undead attacking these poor mobs.
