Wow ok

I exited the new Station Launcher

I right clicked the EQ2.exe application and chose "Run As Adminstratior" seeing as I'm using Windows Vista....I logged in

I deleted the EverQuest application in the Games Folder of Vista

I right clicked the EQ2.exe application and chose compatibility and set it to run as adminstrator all the time; then I chose to create a shortcut and pasted the shortcut in my games folder; Nope

I still had another shortcut in the EverQuest Directory, wouldnt load

I clicked the EQ2.exe application by itself; wouldnt load

I right clicked the EQ2.exe application went to compatibility and unchecked the "Run As Administrator"

Then I right clicked and chose that option "Run As Adminsitrator" and it loaded just fine

My Diagnosis??? I dont know but now for some odd reason the only way for me to load EverQuest 2 is to

Click My Computer>VistaGames Drive>Games>EverQuest 2>Find the EQ2.exe and Right Click it and choose "Run As Adminstrator" I will probably create a shortcut to the directory but I just dont understand how now all of a sudden I have to do it that way instead of going thru my Games folder and have that EverQuest 2 right there.

I have a feeling that the new Station Launcher had something to do with it???

Do you have a european install by any chance . Station launcher only supports Us installs at this time.

On vista there is some configuring to do to get it to run. In a sticky at top i think i saw it.

Nope I live in the US therefore I bought a US Copy; I've always been able to log in, even with Windows Vista but I think when I downloaded the Station Launcher (new) that it somehow messed everything up, I dont know.

I will try it out shortly. I may copy the contents of EQ2 directory

Un install EQ2

Un install Station Launcher

Re Install the basic EQ2

Copy Directory

Patch and probably play

after a newly formatted hard drive, I was still having troubles trying to log in so I ended up copying the EQ2.exe as a shortcut and pinned it to my taskbar; that way when I was ready to play I have to right click and "run as administrator" for it to work properly.

(this was just recently)

We apologize for any difficulty running our games in Vista - Microsoft changed a few settings to Vista that can cause a few issues running some of our games. These instructions will help you load any Windows XP game in Vista: 1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon. This should allow you to run your program under Windows Vista
