First, I just started my brig having been playing a fury, assassin and a necro. I must say this class reminds me of my first love (Mercenary from DAoC) and it's such a fun blend of skills and challenges. LOVE IT.

I have some questions though and was hoping to get the point of view of people who play the class, even though some of these questions are class inspecific (is that a word?).

Anyway. I play on a pvp server so AA's are very important to me. I want to get the most out of them, but I am not sure if I should be locking to do that or not. My fury was in a Qeynos guild and I level locked him for a long time, but I have also heard that at 70 your xp will go towards AA's. My goal here is not to be a twinked low level, I want to play at 70. Will questing and your normal name killing be sufficient for AA progress or should I consider locking to keep AA's fairly high as I level? What I don't want to be is in my 50's and have 20 AA's or so like my assassin does.

Secondly, as far as trades go I am considering Jewelcrafting, Alchemy, or Carpenter (just cause its fun). My question is how important are poisens to a rogue? They are a very important part of my assassin's arsenal, but my brig seems to do really well even without poisen. Is buying from the broker reasonable or will it become too expensive? Jewelcrafting seems more important to me for a few reasons. Mostly because poisens seem readily available on the broker, jewelry seems very expensive to me and keeping my CA's powerful is very important to me on a pvp server. That said, at some point Jewelcrafting will run it's course in terms of utility where as Alchemy is potentially always useful. If either is not that important I could always go with carpenter, I do enjoy making the items for some reason lol.

Anyway, any advice you can give would be helpful, especially on the locking question. Thanks!

Inconthievable, brand new brig on Nagafen.

AA-wise - for me I haven't had an issue when leveling one of my alts to get my AA level to matched up with my adv level only by solo questing and bagging the couple named I've been able to solo. Right now that alt is level 38 with 37 AA pts and I have not turned in any collection quests or completed any of the Lore and Legend quests either as I'm saving those for the 50-60 stretch where XP goes the slowest. I've been leveling slowly though because I do every possible quest in each zone as long as it cons before I leave a zone. So for example, I didn't leave the commonlands until I was around level 26 or so. Then did all the quests in Nek, TS and BBMountains I could, which took me up to 37. Then I started on EL and Zek. So it's possible, but I'm not sure how viable that is on a PvP server either not having played on one extensively.

TS-wise I would suggest Alchemist. You will always use poison and even once you hit cap if you group/raid on an almost nightly basis you will go through, assuming you are running all 3 poisons, 8-12 poison vials a night, and over time that can add up, and add up fast. Especially if you are buying GrandMaster level poisons. It may not seem liek alot when you go out shopping, but that 5 gold or whatever you spend on a stack adds up over time to a pretty healthy sum.

If I'm heading out for a run, whether it's an instance or helping on a raid, I load up on poisons and potions (PvP, not as much of an expense). Replenishing afterwards can average about 50-70 gold, sometimes a plat, depending on how long it was and if we hit another instance back-to-back. Now, having mentioned that at level 70 ... I still think my Jeweler makes more than enough to offset what I spend on it. But I'll have to offer this suggestion: make a Transmuter out of him as well. Either trade, you make killer adornments. Those are serious moneymakers.
