I bought the game recently and was able to play fine for about 4 days, got to level 12 and worked on some tradeskill stuff, then all of a sudden, every time I log on and get into the world, I'm able to run around for about a minute but can't cast any spells. I can't interact with anything either, all I can do is move around, then I get booted out to the "Trying login server #1..." message and I'm just reconnected to my character select screen. Any suggestions?

Just got back from work, still no answer. Anyone at all have this problem?
Sounds like either a lag or connection issue, check to make sure your firewall is letting eq2 through. There are some posts here as to which ports to open up.

I hate to say it but I think we are screwed. We will need to get new cable modems and routers. Comcast uses their own firmware on the cg814wg, and it has a built in firewall of some type that absolutely cannot be switched off. Time Warner uses the same device, but uses netgear firmware, which allows it to be disabled.I haven't been able to get on for about 5 days, and have researched this problem. This crappy modem/router is the culprit. I just need to find the money to buy a new modem (I already have a router to use). The weird thing is, I did play when I first restarted playing EQ2. I was fine for a few days before the trouble started.

Well that sucks, heh. Any suggestions on a new router/modem to purchase? Preferably cheap <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Not really sure. I still have to look at what modems are available. I have a couple routers just sitting around doing nothing currently. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
