Well, I will post this here. It was originall a simple request for help, but you know what they say - sometimes you never know where your journey will take you!

I have tried three different times this last week or two to pre-order the Rise of Kunark expansion for Everquest II, and all three times the website has NOT been able to work. After pressing the pre-order button at

https://store.station.sony.com/digi...2-DD1107-ROKPRE

(and by the way, anyone in charge of this joke of a website: that page takes forever to load), the site will just sit there. Nothing ever happens after that point - the little IE circling keeps chugging around. So, I though, I will try putting in a petition.

HAHAHA. I will share the joke with you all below. Funny, yes?

The PETITION option under support doesnt work. First off, it generates an error about the certificate when logging in

" The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website. "

...and then, after logging in and verifying my email address (now remember this part, it comes back to get me later), I get this wonderful message:

HTTP Status 404 - /emailupdate/$redirectUrl

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

type Status report

message /emailupdate/$redirectUrl

description The requested resource (/emailupdate/$redirectUrl) is not available.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache Tomcat/5.5.9

It simple amazes me that what I would consider a sizable company which does a large part of its business has not been able to keep up a working website. The station store, which arguably has lousy speed and a terrible interface at the best of times, has not worked for the last week, and it would be nice if I could pre-order that dumb expansion over the internet without needing the circa 1980 approach, which involves me sitting on the phone. Well, I feel a little frustrated, I guess I will go complain in the Live Chat option...

Aha! And now, having just selected the Submit request button after typing the above lengthy email message under the live support option... guess what! I CANNOT CONNECT. Internet Explorer 7 (not exactly a minority stream product - and-yes-I-know-IE-sucks to all the Firefox fans) is never able to pull up the following URL http://liveca07.custhelp.com/servlet/LiveThin7000

Goodness! "Isn't that aggravating!", I thought to myself. Heck, I'll just use the EMAIL option and find my answer that way.

Well.

If you haven't seen a trend yet, now is a good time. So, under the EMAIL SUPPORT option, when clicking "Continue" to proceed - and by some lucky miracle I had remembered to copy the above textso I didn't lose it - the support website gives me this little gem:

'Sub-Product' requires a value.'Sub-Category' requires a value.'Email Address' requires a value.

Nowhere does it actually give me an option to do that, but logic apparently flew out the window some time ago. At least it was happy with my Product and Category answers, though I sure wish it would have displayed the Sub-options if it wanted the. And by golly, I guess that email verification was just a ploy to make sure I was alert, and not snoozing through the log in process. Cause it sure doesn't look like its being used automatically, which I would expect.

Remarkable. Let me go find my rotary phone or hell, a postal address and some stamps, so I can communicate with this forward thinking technology company.

P.S. I copied the text just in case the forums screw up, lets keep our fingers crossed now...

for some weird reason i had to use the link in the launchpad to be able to preorder rok form station store, it didnt work with going to station store directly, maybe try that? but i have to agree in general.. eq2 related websites from soe seem to have a rather high failure rate to say it nice.
