<p>Hello Everyone,</p><p> I want to pose a question and see how common and how it is received.  I am interested in playing both a monk and defiler on Nagafen.  Of course, the nature of the classes mean I would have a Qeynos and Freeport character.</p><p>1) How hard is it to manage playing two characters that are distinct in that they can't be part of the same guild and can't trade items via mail.</p><p>2) How do people receive it?  I am not doing it to "spy" or any of that sort.  Just happen to like those classes that can't be on the same "team"</p><p> If any people play characters on both Qeynos and Freeport, i would greatly appreciate your input.</p>

<p>It'd be almost like playing two solo toons.</p><p>But you can move items between cities via the black market -- with the help of a friend.</p>

<p>Where it starts getting difficult is when you PvP against your other guild. </p><p>Mixed loyalties!</p>

<p>Yes, i figured it would be like playing two solo toon.</p><p> The Exile idea I did not think of?  What are the downsides of being Exile?  How hard is it to level up tradeskills, look at broker, find guilds, etc?</p>

There are some other guilds down there from time to time, but nothing major. There is a very good chance you will end up running around alone most of the time. Its more difficult to level up a crafter there too. Fuel is much more expensive, and you will be a target for everyone and mother when you go out to harvest. There is no such thing as PvP gear or other PvP/guild rewards. Most exiles raid for their gear, or do instances. If you are below 70, your options will pretty much be limited to mastercrafted and quested gear. There is a broker in Haven (both Freeport/Qeynos markets), but I think the commission fee is 50% or something, compared to 20% in the cities. You will not get status for killing people, or tokens. Only notority and coin/item drop. You will be a FFA target. This means that everyone can attack you regardless of their level. You will still be restricted to level limits yourself, except against other exiles. If getting killed by red cons is something that is likely to [Removed for Content] you off - don't exile. Did I forget something....? Oh yes, you can't use the broker to sell to the cities, only other exiles. That market is very limited and you will most likely be short on cash most of the time. I know this might sound a little negative, but Haven is mostly for the raiders. At least on Nagafen. They're well organised, good at helping eachother and have similar goals. You can of course exile at any level above 10, but be prepared for a lonely and difficult experience.

<p>Wow, it looks like I won't want to exile soon until I get a good feel for the game and pvp.</p><p> I might have to bite the bullet and either betray my defiler to  mystic or my monk to bruiser.</p>

<p><span style="color: #339900;">soloing an account in exile is easy imo.</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">its all about alts all being in exile and tradeskilling...and tradeskilling all of them differently.</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">you wont need a carpenter till you need a house imo (maybe i just dont know what carpenters make entirely also, but i think its all furniture, im not sure as, its the one tradeskill i dont do)</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">i use 8 tradeskillers, so i can outfit any class character fairly decently from just harvesting and tradeskilling.</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">then...i pvp with them, when im not lurking forum(s).</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">you will need a scout btw...best to gather with.</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">if you find a guild in exile...even easier.</span></p><p><span style="color: #339900;">i got one char in a guild that i rarely play...mostly i solo or lately i duo with teh noob wife.</span></p>

The thing you'll find is that you will tend to favor one character over the other eventually, based mostly on which you find you enjoy playing more and whom you find to play WITH on either side. Getting tight with a good group will almost ensure one character or the other will start to fall by the wayside. Chances are very good that one character will seriously outlevel the other, and the 'spy' thing never comes into play..provided you infact don't spy.  Having characters in different level ranges makes that all much easier of course. </p><p>There are a few tricks to moving items between Freeport and Qeynos if you really need them. A lot of times though you'll find theres nothing you really HAVE to move. The character you begin to favor will gain the most coin and demand the most upgrade, so that works out. *smile* If you have to move an item, have a friend stand at the blackmarket for you, and then put it up for sale for a copper and have them buy it immediately. Works like a charm. </p>

^ Yeah that's what I do. When I first decided to make a freep, I betrayed one of my Qs and brought a bunch of plat and gear over to get started. It was easy after that. Moving items between characters can be difficult. What I normally do is wait until it's the middle of the week and most people are asleep then I spawn the black market. I put a few items up for 1 gold, log out, and then have my other toon buy it off the black market. It's a bit dangerous, but it's worked for me so far. I don't put any fabled items up there - mostly just adornments, adept 3s and MC gear.
