Playing on EU server - creating new file

<p>I created a new folder so I would have a launch pad for the EU server.  </p><p>I've been on the server only once and at that time realized I could not see the Fae or Arasi.</p><p>The next step I read about was loading the US server then doing a full file scan then reload  EU.</p><p>The problem is EU will not load.  643+ hours to load  not possible.  I tried again and got down to 3 hours and it just</p><p>would never load hours later.  The other odd thing is that everytime I use that launcher it creates folders all over my desktop for various things as it downloads.</p><p>Is there something basic that I am overlooking?  </p>

When you say you created a new folder for an EU installation how did you do that?It sounds like you've run into a few problems at the same time.Normally, if you change from US English to EU English on the first window of the Launchpad it justs patches all your normal files to what the EU patch server has. If you change back to US English it reverses the process. Since the US patch server has GU 39 and the EU doesn't have GU 39 yet this will be a big patch right now but often they have the same files.If you want to avoid this patching back and forth it's recommended to create a separate installation for each. If you do this you can save some downloading time if you copy your paks, Music, and LegendsofNorrath folders to your new installation first. Then you can just launch the EQ2.exe program from within your EU installation folder to patch everything else.If you see a lot of files appearing on your desktop it sounds like you put the actual EQ2.exe program on your desktop. If you want a shortcut there you need to drag the EQ2.exe program with your right mouse button to your desktop and then choose "Create Shortcuts Here" or you can hold down Alt and drag the EQ2.exe file with your left mouse button. <p>I went into the Sony folder  then the EQ folder and copied the test folder and renamed it EQEU.</p><p>Then I shortcut the whole folder to the desktop so I would have a separate launcher for the EU server.</p><p>But well it was a disaster.   I guess maybe I can just live with the patch times over and over and switch</p><p>back and forth on my main launch pad.  </p><p>If I install again I can just rename it when it looks for a place to load?     Then I would have to separate ones? </p><p>I am far to ignorant I guess  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   </p>
