I was talking to a few people last night and they said with some of the recent updates to weapons that dual weilding is now better then going down the WIS line? Is this true? I was not really aware that changes were made with this last update. I am almost lvl 70 and was going to respec to WIS line as soon as I got a good fabled weapon but decided to hold off now. Thanks for the help.

Depends on your setup. Dual wield has more potential, but if you have one good weapon, and another great one, using the great one as 1H will be better. Now, if you have Soulfire Saber and Axe of Natural Order (or Gladius / Clearcutter Machete), then yea, dual wield is going to be better.I think many people's views are skewed towards dual-wield based on tests done shortly after the changes went live, when there was a bug causing dual wield to proc effects significantly more, giving it a sizable boost to overall DPS. It's more balanced now.

I still prefer 1h. Let's say the damage output is completely equal in every aspect. Wis line still offers more in terms of making your character well rounded. I'm str/wis with my obsolete chel'drak shard and parse competitively. The agi/wis build might be better if you have so-so gear.

I have fairly decent gear but so-so weapons...and find that dual wield does better than the WIS line. I do agree that with a really good weapon, 1H would be better. I was STR/WIS for a bit and could see how that would be pretty nice with a good weapon.

Since my Swash is an alt and doesn't raid much in favor of a healer, I'm still working on the quests or raid opportunities that would get me a nice 1H before I change back.

I like the idea of being a Fencer. Fits my little rodent Swashie. Even with only a Mastercrafted weapon I didn't notice much of a drop in DPS, at least not while soloing. I still carry two weapons though since I want to keep both Slashing and Piercing up. If I let one of them slip, the next nice weapon that falls on her lap will be using the skill that is 50 points behind...lol.

I would say it's pretty close and now depends on the individual's play style and equipment. WIS/STR still scales a bit better than STR/AGI, but if you can get an Illusionist to buff Double Attack, I think STR/AGI edges out STR/WIS.

The end result will be dependent on the equipment available in RoK. If you can pick up a fair bit of +Double Attack gear and get two good weapons, I would say STR/AGI/STA possibly, though picking up the damage abilities for STR/AGI along with 1Handing from WIS may make up for it.

I'll probably do a new AA guide once we get into RoK.

I requested it be de-stickied when I left the game since it would go out of date.
