I Dled these new drivers and instantly noticed stuttering in EQ and I mean bad. I never had this before and ran several tests with my hard ware such as single card and single card and same problem. I have never had this before and after going back to old drivers problem solved. I have 8800 GTX in sli and also tried single. Got a C2D at 3.8ghz and very low latency ram with raptors and never have ever had a EQ2 prob till these. Jus a heads up if anyone lookin to Dl them! Oh yea I also run vista business x64 and since I have never had a prob before dont go blaming vista it rox so far for me! May just be my windows ver with the problem but thats because of an error in the drivers regardless!

I've installed the Win XP home version of the lastest beta drivers and its runing nicely, possibly just the vista version thats causing it. Alas the update still didnt fix the disappearing shadows FIX THIS SOE!

Those drivers have not been tested with the game yet according to the knowledge base.

Every driver has worked great up until this one. I also tried the new 169.02 that came out today and same problem!

Have you provided feedback to Nvidia? I mean, it is their driver that is screwing up, after all, not EQ2. I use Nvidia video cards and drivers as well and have zero issues running the game with older drivers.

Unless you are updating drivers to fix a specific issue, it is generally not a good idea to do so for no reason. If you were not having problems before, simply reinstall that last good drivers and call it a day.

To put it more bluntly, the latest drivers are not always the greatest drivers for your specific system.

The 169 drivers are notoriously buggy on older software. They were released to help optimize Crysis some, but they're awful for everything else it seems. Wait for newer ones and stick with the last whql version.

Tried the 190.4 the stuttering seemed a micro hair shorter but just as frequent and equally as annoying. Sent an email to Nvidia hopefully they will adress the issue before the official release. Btw the new official 163.75 release works great that just came out today or yesterday!
