<p>Just a thought. Everyone knows that because of the range and damage spread and delay, shortbows are useless for end game raiding DPS...not many rangers I know use them. so why have them at all? your DPS is always much better using a long bow not to mention the extra range is great.</p><p>rather than eliminate them completely, why not make them actually usefull? why not nerf the actual damage even more, but make the range 0-25 meters instead of 2-25 meters. </p><p>now, i understand the balancing issues this would cause due to pvp and what not, because rangers would no longer have to use traps and snares...and making damage from ranged CA's do less damage if you have a shortbow equipped would require alot of trouble i would think to balance out...so a easy way would be to just make it so only a couple ranged attacks would work when a shortbow was equipped.</p><p>the reason i bring this up is because not only are shortbows in their current form worthless, but for PVE my 48 ranger has struggled to take mobs without kiting...his dps from ranged is around 700...if a mob gets close and he is forced to play the trap and stealth and melee CA game he can barely eek out 200dps. he can still survive against mobs, but if i wanna take on anything more than a white even con i have to play the kiting game.</p><p>and thats fine, when i am not duoing or trioing. it limits my small grouping options because i need someone to hold aggro because up close i cannot do enough damage to keep aggro or do any real dps. my trouble is my wifes non melee spec'd healer classes. the aggro bounces around like mad and makes duoing incredibly difficult.</p><p>if i had the ability to use even a couple of ranged attacks to go with my melee CA's, like say my AOE and doubleshot and tripleshot attacks, the aggro wouldnt pinball as much.</p><p>thats just my idea on how shortbows could actually become usefull...feel free to flame or say how that would totally unbalance things,lol.</p>
