You guys are incredible for help, you really are, but I am very confused on which direction to go.

You talk about str/sta/int, then talk about sta/agi/int, and I just don't know where to put my points,

I am a level 33, I have quested my little heart out and have earned a whopping 22 points, (i feel like that is low), and I want to place them correctly right now, I spread them out at first, I put one point in everything on the Crusader tree, then started building up str and sta. I love the joust so i started to build that up.

Now that I am a 33, I have decided that I want to spec out towards offtank, as I just think with my experience at this level, the heals are only for spot healing anyway, or myself when i am soloing.

#1. To be set up as a MT/OT, I should spec out at ................................

#2. As I get more points, place them in .................................................

(keep in mind, I love to do damage, all of my gear has languine, or lambuent, or whatever that word was that heals while it does damage). I am really having a great time with my Paladin, and love it so much better then EQ1, so please help me out here, where do you suggest I place them?

#3. Has anyone tried to go all the way down one row? Just for the sake of trying it?

thanks.
edit: str/4/3 ... agi/4/1.......sta /4/4.........wis/3 ..... int/1 this is my set up now, cause i thought i was supposed to start putting even numbers up, now i see otherwise, and in reply to the post below, does that mean you have 0 points in wis/str ? why would they design the tree with so many point slots, if there are .... i see.... so if you wanted to go all the way down one, you could use all your 50 points (4 in one row. But obviously, you guys have tried and tested this... so thank you, saves me the trouble of it, and i really appreciate it.

I've tried more specs than any one person should... I've been down the STR line, the STA line, the WIS line at one point in time or another. I've been have spell and heal crits maxed as well.

For the OT, the best set up is: AGI/STA/INT 4/4/8 (int first, then sta, the agi IMO).

For MT, you can use the AGI/STA/INT as well, but some swear by the STA(complete)/INT 4/4/8 set up

Regardless, you will want to take the hero and wraith lines (for either role) on the paladin side.

I liked the wisdom line for leveling up in a group, but it doesn't give you personally as much aid in doing what you have to do for, say, a raid tanking role. If you solo, you lose most of its group benefits. Also, most of its bonuses become redundant in a balanced raid tanking group. Most everyone here hates it, but I personally plan to revisit wisdom in kunark.

For lving I would stick with spell crits and melee crits till you get more AAs, 33 or what ever you are now you dont have the full range of spells to bother with Wraith line though Smite Evil might be enough to make life easy. Since your going to be soloing grouping alot dps is probably going to matter more at that stage. Untill you get into your 50s and 60s I wouldnt worry to much about raid specs. Max your Spell/melee crits and get the 40% auto attack to mobs from Agi line heal and wraith from Pal line. Heals for solo or group will be handy mostly the ward on shorter recast. Once you get to 70-80 depending on where your at when expantion comes out you will need to rethink for raiding.

I dont get it, i thought you were supposed to place all 50 points in crusader tree before you can place any in paladin tree, are you saying i am supposed to go all the way down the wrath line in the paladin tree before i place any points in agi? i have 28 points, I thought i had to fill 50 first, if i am supposed to go down wrath line, how many does that take?

no, you can put the points where ever you want to. you could fill your paladin tree first, you can do a mix and match.

I filled out most of my KoS tree first, but that was due to my specific needs at the time.

Many feel that you get more bang for your buck in the KoS tree. I like tossing 5 in my single heal and ward though until I collect enough AAs to make a desired spec. They'll help you in the lower levels while you're soloing and before you start rolling with good healers.
