I'd help if I could. I recommend filling out a petition. You might get a better response time.

I'm having the same problem, so let me know if you figure it out. Are your characters part of two guilds? Mine are. THinking about leaving other guild on those characters and trying again. But i would liketo think that's not necessary.

Magi

I've had this problem for forever. Months ago (actually almost last year) I discovered that I also couldnt upload any screenshots to any of my eq2players characters screenshots galleries.

I did the petition bit. spent almost a week doing all sorts of things to my PC in regards to (what is routine to anyone that cares about their PCs performance) maintainence suggested in mulitiple emails from the SOE tech support person, none of which worked. Only to finally be told that

"yes we were able to recreate the problem, but it will be sometime before we are able to fix it"

And to date, now way in November I still cannot upload any screenshots.

Now recently Ive formed a new guild on one of my other characters and tried to make a guild website for it and ran into exactly the error your talking about. So I did the petition bit again. This one hasnt even been apparently of enough importance to SOE to even merit a response as I still have heard absolutley nothing from them in answer for at least a week if not longer.

What it amounts to, is that we are billed according to each of our personal subscription plans (in my case every three months) and are PAYING and HAVE been, for services we cant even use that dont work. for who knows how long. And to me, I dont care if im one of only 10 people using the things or one of 10,000. im paying for it and have been. thats just downright thievery.

I mean, I understand things break down, or there are tech issues here and there. its one thing to not have access to something ive paid for over a temporary timeframe while bugs are ironed out or things repaired. But i have been paying for screenshot and image storage for almost a YEAR now and not able to use it. and now the guildsite feature doesnt work?

I wonder if I tallied up the 2.99 for every month for the screenshots and now the stationplayers guild features and presented SOE with the figure ,they would want to credit my account for services ive paid for and not received? <chuckles> or if they would like it if EVERYONE thats been paying for those services presented them with some #s. Ill bet they'd get it fixed pretty %$%%^ quick if they had to pay everyone back eh? LoL

Bottom line is that this is pretty poor treatment of loyal customers and its further diminished when they dont even value us enough to even repond.

EDIT: And now I go back and look on the date of your guys posts and see the guildsite problem is weeks old as well, which probably means its been going on for who knows how long, just like the screenshot storage problem. <sighs>

I am having the same problem as the OP.

I receive the same error when trying to make a guild website. I have not found any workaround.

My character used to be a guild leader of a different guild, and in charge of that guild website prior to quitting the game for awhile. I suspect my inability to create a new guild website for my newest guild (which I created a couple months ago) is because I've already done it once in ancient history and there's still some kind of permission issue.

Does this situation apply to you?

Ive been in numerous guilds over the last couple years and always an officer although I did have two of my own when I first started (not counting the one im working on now which is why I ran across this problem) and ive been in charge of, or tried to build a couple in the past yes.

Ive never left the game though.

But I do agree with you Echo, this is definatly some kind of login/permissions issue. I am currently getting responses from an SOE tech support specialist about it, and Ill post whatever comes from that in the end here if itll be of any help to anyone.

Still having this problem. Tech support doesn't seem to know what it is, and that is when I can manage to log in to update my email support.

I am also having this issue. I am a bit frustrated that there is no response or fix to it. I have read through just about every forum page I could find on the subject and still nothing works. I would like to create a website for my new guild but apparently i am paying for something I can't use.

It's existed since the game came out. Your experience with getting it resolved (that is, not getting it resolved) is typical. It's been reported countless times, however.

As a guild leader I cannot create a site either. Im frankly convinced the entire functionality is either disabled or totally broken. I suspect disabled for some footling tech reason and fixing and reenabling it got put on a back burner and never bothered with.

I'm having the exact same issue. I did notice, when I purchased the bundle of all 5 Station Players services, I was only charged about a buck-fifty. Presumably, the discount was due to the fact that not all of the services are functional, yet there wasn't any explanation for it. Also, I have noticed on existing EQ2Players guild sites, a lot of errors in scripting. Presumably, the troubles with EQ2Players guild sites run wide and deep? Perhaps this was the reason for the discount on the bundle purchase? I'm sure we'd all appreciate some information from "someone in the know" on the matter, especially, if possible, something resembling an explanation as to the nature of the trouble (not necessarily an estimate on when it will be resolved, as we all know the answer is, "Soon!" )

I have been having a similar issue. At first I thought it was because my character wasn't updating. But it is now current up to a day or two ago.

The problem is. When I get to the create a guild website page it tells me to select a character that has permissions. Well I am one of the current guild leaders but next to my character is my old position in the guild, and I am unable to click on his name to create the site.

Has anyone had similar issues and found a way to overcome this one?

They Definitely did not take this feature out, it is still there, has some problems yes but in no way impossible. I had the same issue, figured out how to fix it in a day. and here is my new guild site after creating the guild less than a month ago, bbs.eq2guilds.orgThe way to do it sign in go to guilds link, you should have 4 options next nearly to the top of the page. click sign out. then resign in, you will be on the same page, click manage guild website and then click on the intended char with the guild. Not sure why you have to log out and sign in again at that point but it's what has worked for me. Hope this helps everyone.

No matter what I do, the website reports that I am unauthorized to create the guild's website. I'm the guild leader, I'm authorized. I think I'm sticking with "it's disabled" until someone else reports success or until an SOE rep deigns to speak with us concerning this issue.

I honestly would have kept mine for the guildchat outside of game (I use it from work) but I got tired of having to resubscribe 2-3 times a month because it would drop the Advanced Guild Features from my reoccuring charges for some reason. I even advised SoE via the support forms many times, and was advised it was fixed. I'd love to see it work, but it has grown to be more of a pain then it is worth. If they need to test it more to get it working stable, then they really need to stop charging people for it.....
