I used to play on Venekor where it was nothing more then a gank fest, but I have returned a year and half later to find the server nearly deserted!!!

Since I don't wish to offend anyone who's playing on a different server and perhaps love being there, I'll just state one single fact:Nagafen is the PvP server with the highest population, by far.

Indeed Naggy has the highest population, Although from what I've seen most of those seem to be locked in T2 or T3 as twinks, Ive known several people pay for a move to Naggy from Ven and then pay for a move back because T7 isnt all that and they find more friendly people on Venekor, Having said that I recently rolled as an FP on Naggy and found some REALLY nice people despite the kiddies and the bickering. Im now back on venny, so its a matter of personal choice!

I'm on Venekor and never have an issue finding PvP, groups, etc... Perhaps it's the time of day you play?

Vox ftw! Our plat is more expensive than what plat spammers sell their plat for on nagafen / venekor (they sell the most play to nagafen / venekor coincentally...on vox we play by the rules!) And alot of VERY skilled players on Vox, Vox is not easy mode in ANY aspect.

There are quite a lot of level 70s on the server, but none of them are ever out PvPing. Right now if you're a Q there's a decent amount of PvP to be had (lots of FP bots) but as a level 70 freeport all you'll do is fly from island to island in the Kingdom of Sky seeing the same few people over and over and over again. No matter what time of day it is.

To the OP, there's no "best" pvp server.

For a same server you'll have a lot of different opinions, depending on the kind of gameplay you like, the people you're playing with, the goal you have etc.

So I think the best reply we can say is : try by yourself You can creat some lowbies on each pvp server to see how it looks like. It's what I made before Euro server merge, and it's how we found Venekor will fit us the best.

This morning before work I got 20 tokens in the Venekor overrealm and dropped a few chests myself. Admittedly there were no fights to write home about, but still not bad.

Being honest, I think Nagafen is the best server, even for newbies. It has easily the highest population, just short of what I'd call 'Just Right'.

ah just merge Naggy and venekor and get on with it imo .. I've no doubt it could be done and then you'd have an uber PvP server with plenty for all ..

Have you looked at what is for sale on Station Exchange? Last time I looked there were a total SIX items for sale on there. And believe me, nothing game breaking. Unless you consider someone selling 2 scrying stones for a couple bucks a big deal. You can buy a toon on there if you want. But only one which an actual player has taken the time to develop, not a pre-packaged by Sony uber toon. I don't think most people that buy toons on there are noobs to EQ2, but I agree someone could buy the game, buy a toon off SE, and have 0 skill. But that would affect my gameplay how? You can buy very expensive plat on there. That would give you an advantage up to a point. But money's not really all that hard to come by in game. And most of the really good stuff, pvp gear, no trade raid gear, etc you can't just go to the broker or SE and buy no matter how much plat you have. In short, on Vox at least the server being station exchange affects gameplay not at all. To the OP. As other's have said, the best server for you will be the one that most fits the style of play you want. If you want constant hard core pvp Naggy would probably be the server for you. I'm sure there are lots of good players over there. People who would help you out, good guilds to join. If you want more of a mix of pve and pvp, then Vox or Venekor will fit you better. Also good people, guilds(Steamrollers on Vox is FTW). Whatever you decide welcome and good luck.

Because, aside from the few that complain on the boards, most of us very happy with Venekor. All problems would not be solved with a merge. In fact problems would arise for the majority of Venekor that like their server the way it is. We don't want a huge increase in population (a small increase yes but not of Nagafen size popurtions).

I have 3 different characters in 3 different tiers atm. I can honestly say that with exception of T7 I never have a problem finding PvP action. The population problem isn't something that extends tier to tier. Some tiers have it worse than others that is for sure. But then again it is also a time zone thing. Sometimes I log into my T7 char and run into tons other times not so much. That is the benefeit of having varied play times I guess (which is not afforded to all). Late EST though most of T7 are running instances or raiding. I have little trouble finding groups at these times, so there are indeed players.

Venekor simply put has a different play stlye than Naggy. And, I for one sign the pettition to keep playstyle vs population if that is the choice /sign

Some of us that play on Venekor and Vox don't want to play on Nagafen. If we wanted to play there, we'd have toons there already - simple as that. Those Venekor people like being on a server with an RP designation, and Vox players don't relish the idea of being forced to re-roll since we can't tranfer off.I'm sure there is a solution out there, but forced mergers is not it.

While I'm not entirely sure yet if I'm going to Naggy or staying on Venekor, one thing is for sure, we don't need a server merge. There are plenty of people on Venekor, just most of them are either playing locked PvPers or raiding on their 70s.

For everyone on Venekor who wants a server merge... i don't expect you're going to get one. If you want to play on Nagafen, you have two options, first is to roll a new toon there. Second is to pony up and pay the US$50 to get a transfer. I'm sure you can all find the transfer page, do a search for posts by Broncas on the Venekor boards.
Just a thought. Intead of saying its a merge favoring one server or another, call it a consolidation to a new server named.......

Vengafvox! Or NagVoxker, or Fenekox!

J/K, but honestly, in order to remove peoples partiality to a specific server name, in the event that a merge ever does occur, I think a wise decision would be to rename the new server to something totally different.

With the soon to be released ROK, we will see a further dispersal of players, regardless of which server, as people explore new content. Will PvP encounters drop in numbers? More than likely.

Will the PvP gameset gain enough new/returning players to counter this? Past history of adding new PvE content, SOE usually enjoys a brief splurge in population that sputters out after a bit. Since ROK is adding an additional 10 levels to the endgame, this WILL have the effect of opening an even larger gap between lower, mid, and endgame players (I mention this because of everyone's favorite bone of level-locking).

PvP will also see many changes at endgame, as the difference between PvE and PvP skills once again undergo adjustments towards balance (we hope).

Honestly? I love Venekor, its been my PvP server since I started PvP'ing.

Vox? I understand the thought behind station exchange, the question there is does it continue to make SOE a profit, if it does it will continue to exist.

Nagafen? I have friends that moved there, as well as enemies (PvP ones that is, hehe), but I've never felt the desire to go myself, nor to give SOE $50 for a data transfer (I wonder what SOE's profit margin is on that, hmmm?). Yes, they offered free transfers for a while, and I chose to stay on Venekor, and I have no regrets on that.

Bottomline, if a merger ever occurs, just to avoid those that would most certainly resort to bragging or crowing about how thier server was the better one based on the fact of what the name is, is why I think an entirely new name should be chosen.

Better yet, turn it into a contest, and let the players vote on a selection! Come up with THREE names, and then let PvP'ers vote!
