So I'm wondering if I'm the only one that gets this, which I hope I am so I can see if theres a way to fix it. Basically, I have a 3.4ghz intel / 1gb ddr2 ram / 256mg ati x800 xt vid card computer...and while I lag a lot in Neriak, which is understandable especially by the docks for the system specs I have..one thing makes no sense to me whatsoever.

When I log on, whenever I right click on something for the first time in just about any zone I'm in, the game will lock up for a good 20 seconds before loading the menu. This also happens when attempting to drag my first item for sale from my bag to my broker bag, or from bank to bag, etc.

Anyone else have similar issues? Havent been able to log on recently to do some testing, but I dont recall this happening before the last patch that occurred, and the only other thing thats changed has been that I moved my UI around a bit.

Any help would be useful =)

You're not alone. I often get right-click lag. Especially that first time with a load of windows and clicking.

About the only vaguely helpful thing I've managed is to not do it when busy.

The amount of system RAM affects this. If you're freezing when right-clicking... it means that Windows forced part of EQ2's less volatile memory into the swap file. When you right-click, that memory page is needed and has to be loaded from your harddisk into RAM before it can be used. The freeze is that process. You need more free RAM to alleviate this problem. Getting more RAM, freeing used RAM by closing other programs or reducing the amount of RAM EQ2 uses will do it. The last option can be easily done by lowering your Display->Texture Resolution settings.

That'll eliminate a lot of swapping and smooth out your game immensely.

Awesome, thanks for the replies =) I'll actually be ordering another pair of 512's in the next week or so, so hopefully my problems with those menus should go away.

While on the subject of Memory, i have one more question then...

Neriak is jacked, I've seen that everyone has a problem with this for the most part, so I'm not looking to eradicate the lag experienced in the dock area (though sounds like memory will definately help a bit). What I would like to know is....

Currently after being in Neriak for any longer than 10 minutes...it gives me a sort of, residual lag that stays with me wherever I go afterward. Almost like a small snowball rolling down a mountain side, turning into a huge one, the residual lag seems to build apon itself until simple tasks like using a combat art will lock up the system for a short duration, until finally the game becomes simply unplayable until I reboot. I can literally be playing for 9 hours out in the world and be perfectly fine, then go to Neriak for 10 minutes and be completely crippled in any other zone until I reboot.

Is this being caused because of the swap file issue you mentioned earlier? Since I lack the neccessary RAM onboard and its using my HD, will it continue to use my HD thus butting heads with the already CPU intensive game? Or is Neriak that screwed up that it doesnt properly clear its memory usage once you leave it?

I'm not all that savvy when it comes to the hardware aspects of computers, but hopefully you guys can shed some light. Appreciate the replies!
