Buff from Bristlebane cloak

Sometimes I get a +10%dmg/+10%size buff when "using" the Bristlebane cloak. This buff shows up in the maintained spell list, even if I swap the cloak and use a more conven... fashioned item. Does anybody know if the buff (+10%dmg) is really maintained, as I am shrinking back to normal size when swapping?

The only one of the Bristlebane cloak effects that is maintained after removing the cloak is the goblin illusion. The DPS increase and the hate decrease buffs only work when the cloak is equiped, you just don't lose the buff when un-equiping the cloak.
