Hi all,

I having trouble deciding on what trees to go down. A lot of them have a lot of nice stuff! I’m looking for a pure DPS monk. I’m in a static group of friends, we have a guardian. So I’d like to step up the DPS in my monk. I also duel box with my Fury so I’m never solo. I enjoy using weapons. I like 1 handed maces and looking at new weapons once in awhile. I’d rather not go bare handed, so maybe the STR line wouldn’t be for me.

Right now I have 10 AA points, which I have in the STR line in the brawler tree? Just for the STR bonus of the first tier. All of the options on where to go from here look good. I could use the advice of experienced monk to help direct me the best AA line to choose for this role.

Also for stats I was going to focus in this order for my DPS role STR, STA, AGI, WIS, INT

Hope to hear from someone Thanks

I'd say go into the wis and int line, only spend more than 4 points on skills that will actually result in damage. I'd try to stick to passive skills as well if possible. I wouldn't bother putting points into str at all if you aren't going to use it. Spend the points elsewhere and get gear/dolls/ etc to boost your str. Also, for stats, if you're going for pure dps, focus on str/int before the others. Int should increase your proc damage.

I have a static group of friends, we hardly solo. That said both a Templar and Fury is in the group. I don't see my self dropping down to 30% health often thats for sure. In my case perhaps this wouldn't be the right choice?

Then go 4-4-8 Int/Wis/Sta skipping end-line abilities. There's a million and a half posts already regarding this topic if you're interested.

Could you point me to the million and half posts that pertain to my role in this party layout? I would find it most useful. I’m intrigued that I’m unable to locate my specific question with the search function. Perhaps you can shed some light on this wealth of knowledge available out there.

Thanks

Rather then choosing a side I simply quoted the response and asked for further guidance. The response would hold the intention. Which by the “snippy” remark it would also illustrate others that are over sensitive. My inquiry directly/implied a list of questions. Most of which I could find partial answers for. I’d break them down for you, but honestly at this point I’d rather waste gold figuring it out myself then have you open your mouth again.

Glad we could get together as a community and help a new/returning player out. Well, in fairness to my more serene brethren, I suppose I should point out that I'm not actually a Monk and so any attitude you think I display should not be construed as the actions of the wider Monk community. If you have indeed been searching through the previous threads about AAs, then you must realise how often the generic "Which AAs maximise my DPS?" question comes up, and how asking it yet again without qualification might be perceived.Perhaps the best way to proceed would be for you to outline what specifically you wish to know? Asking an indepth question that shows you've done some research (for example : the relative merits of AGI/WIS/INT vs STA/WIS/INT given shorter cooldowns of the monk subclass compared to a bruiser is a something I'd be interested in debating myself), will be better received than just a request to rehash the same old thing.Personally, I still think that you're handicapping your DPS at low level by not going at least 448 STR.

i didn't read the thread, im just burning through as many as i can today seeing where i can give input since eq2flames is slow.if you would like to talk more about AP see my sigas for a good spec leveling up, unless you can get your hands on fabled weapons i would say go all the way down str line with 8 in double attack, then after you get those 8 swap to int line and get melee crit, then go to the recast on agi line and get 8 points in that as well. very powerful spec and it will deal excelent sustained as well as burst dps for a monk. if you are fabled in weapons leveling up all the way though, int/wis to the bottom is your best bet. i use this spec in raids on my monk and i can hit 2k dps in group with dirge inquis without much issue. my gear is in my eq2players profile. i wear the head from SoF for crits and the boots off MMC named senschal for melee crit over my EoF set when in raid, so if eof set shows up in those slots thats why
