This seems to be the most commonly asked question. The best advice is pick what you're happy with/enjoy doing, but for a similar discussion, see this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=388378

A provisioner will save you a few silver for the food you need. However there's always a good amount of food on the broker and the money you'll save, in no way justifies the time needed to level a provisioner.A woodworker can provide you with weapons and totems. On top of that, a woodworker has many rare recipes you can use to make money by selling products on the broker. In my opinion any tradeskill class is more versatile and fun than a provisioner. Well ok a sage may be equally boring but at least he can make money selling his products on the broker

Best advise for crafting is always "go with what you like best."As a lvl 70 woodworker, I'll say that once you hit lvl 39, the money is pretty easy. I've been crafting in my guild leader's house, had my broker window open, dumping wolf totems into it as soon as I make them, and I can't craft them fast enough to meet the demand. The tough part is getting the feyiron (hint - get Cove of Decay access). At current time woodworkers also make throwing weapons (which don't include shuriken until lvl 68 ) but it is possible the weaponsmiths may be getting those back (as well they should!). Mana totems are also a must-have while crafting, especially at higher tiers - so if you decide to make an alt to do a different craft, you'll be able to supply them as well. They also sell nicely. ^_^Food and drink, on the other hand, is something you will always need, and unlike throwing weapons, it is highly unlikely that it will be transferred to another class. As my provisioner is only lvl 21, and I get most of my food and drink from my guild leader's alt, I can't really give a better opinion on that.edit: ruddy smilies showing up unwanted...

For a monk I'd have to recomend Tailor. My tailor makes far more cash than my other 6 crafters. Plus you can make all his armour, bags and hex dolls.

No contest for Woodie or Provvie IMO
