Ok, so I came back on Sony's Winback and it's been so long since I last played that I simply cannot remember what Softcap is...I ~think~ it was 7.33R * Level, but I'm just not sure.I ask since my new main is a baby pally and I want to balance stats but keep STR and INT up near softcap... Haven't played a Plate class past T3 before so I don't know if it's possible short of T7 raiding... So some knowledge imparted by a Pally with more experience would be appreciated. :^)

I'd focus on STA if you plan to tank... and don't worry about caps... even fully fabled you'll be hard pressed to make them self buffed or even group buffed until your at the levelcap I believe. Just get the best gear you can get and stack up the stats. You're a long way from worrying about caps and in a couple of weeks the bar raises even higher.

Ah, good that I don't really have to worry about them... Just for reference's sake, what is the stat cap, anyway? It's nagging me that I can't remember.

15 * lvl? I know they really upped it a while back. But that being said, it is on a diminish returns curve now, so you will get less benefit going from 600 to 700 sta than you did going from 500 to 600 sta. I know I was pushing nearly 850 STR in my raid group last night.

the way i think of my stats... ungrouped i'm around 640 strength, 590 stamina, the more the better.. that way when you get bebuffed it doesnt effect you as much..

There are basically 3 points of interest on the caps curve.7 x Level +20 .. this is the first spot you start seeing diminishing returns on your stats10 x Level +20 .. once you cross this threshold, you start seeing very aggressive diminishing returns on your stats15 x Level +20 .. this is the hardcap. As an aside, you gain more by going from 7x to 10x than you do going from 10x to 15x.
