quoted from eq2flames, post by me to another monk on the same general topicim going to list 2 sepeerate specs, one for the raider/ well geared non raider and one for the non raider/casual player.spec 1 with 50 AP in brawler tree, monk tree is pretty straightforwardbut i hate going over it myself, send me a tell in game/ add me tofriends nektulos.faxon and nektulos.faxoff, easier to do it in person.kos tree for the raider is as follows for soloing44862 int line and wis line, last point in + hp or + deflection?depending on what your gear is and which will give the biggest benefit.things that you should look for (weapon wise) are tradable fabledweapons for brawlers. these are usually relatively cheap since no onecan get rid of them. fist of bashing is usually going for 5-15pdepending on server and if you go out and farm for a day you can makethat in maybe 3 sessions of farming with the current [Removed for Content] economy,and masters selling for 2-4p, no problem. other weapon to get is yourlegendary SoD reward. this thing is basically a fist of bashing with 5double attack on it, nice weapon for the non raider. weapons you canbuy (2h) are bo of flowing blood from unrest and staff of the flappingwing (better) from AoAx2 (easy raid x2 zone).now, for the non raider / casual guy who cant get weapons of thisquality/fabled status you really HAVE to go down str line or your DPSis going to suffer, and soloing = killing [Removed for Content] before it kills you. soi have come up with this spec and reasons for it44872 str and 44862 intstr line reasons: the 96% double attack + 20 dps mod is better than ANYweapon with a legendary tag on it EXCEPT some rare exceptions that ilisted above. since closing time from unrest is what you are using, andit isnt one of them, i would say you want to respec. you will do moredps and also solo better this way. now, going all the way down int linealso gives you a 10.5% boost to your parry/riposte chance, which willbe rather nice when soloing since it will boost your avoidance and adddps while tanking/soloing due to getting hit. as for int line, it isgenerally the first place anyone goes for a DPS spec and a must havefor a soloer. you gain 18.1% melee crit from it and by going to thebottom, when you are bellow 30% hp (tsunami this to increase duration)you gain a large boost to mitigation and your melee crit goes up toaround 100%. as for str line chi, if the mob you are soloing is aboutto die, but you are bellow 30%, a good strat is to hit chi + tsunamiand burn the [Removed for Content] out of the mob this way. i do the same thing withfabled weapons and crane flock + eagle shriek when im int/wis, it worksreally well. in fact, it works so well that the only thing stopping mefrom soloing the kaladim gloves ring event is the fact that my monk'sgear isnt that great, and i only have like 7500 hped: post RoK when you gain another 20 points per tree, put those intoagi line 448 for the recast bonus, put 1 more point into riposte for 8in riposte, then put the last 3 into either baton flurry (the recoveryone or whatever it is) in agi line or eagle spin in int line to exposethe mobs back to you for longernow, as for what any of this means as far as what weapons to pick if you ARE getting a good weapon, theres a few things to learn, and the limited resources of a forum are not enough to explain by myself outside game. see my sig and send me an in game tellposted by me today instead of in the quote is another good build for leveling DPSk so that entire topic was devoted to solo spec, another good spec for leveling up DPS would be simply going 448 str/agi/int. reasons for most of those stats are above, except agi line ( i didnt reread my post if i did oops i double posted the info). agi line is nice when leveling simply because you are moving very quickly through heroic content (i hope) and you want your 30s recast combat arts up sooner than that typically. with heroic mobs dying in 15-20 seconds and all your stuff on 30s recast you end up having to save combat arts for the next fight in order to do consistent dps. with agi line recast bonus, your over all dps will boost while not tanking (if you are the solo spec is better) since all your combat arts will come up fast enough to use more of them each fight.
