View Full Version : Question about video performance.

I have a fairly decent system. However, recreating here what I have isn't as easy -- pretty sure it's a 256 mb video card (ti6300 maybe?) with 2g ram, and the processor is pretty decent. However -- my question is this:  How come I can't see objects on the ground unless I'm right on top of them? Sometimes I even have to turn my character in order to see them.  Like, I can't see it when I face north, but if I turn to the south a bit, it pops into view.  Is this a graphic setting that I'm missing? I've turned most things way up (even if I'm not sure what they mean...) I don't really lag much unless I scroll WAAAAAAAY out in 3rd person. Of course, then I can't even see myself.  The closer 'in' I get, I can see my own character, but she's moving choppily, until I get to just a few feet or so above her, and then she moves normally.Any suggestions or clarifications would be greatly appreciated. And, if this belongs in a different forum, I apologize. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Anyone? I've tried changing multiple options in the performance and all video areas, and can't seem to find how to fix this issue. I see other things just fine, but many ground spawns I don't see until I am standing right on top of them, and turn my view a little bit.

"Particle Level of Detail (Far)" under Particle Effects controls how far away you can see the ground spawn sparkle. Setting it all the way to the right draws particles at the maximum distance.

OMG...thank you so much. That absolutely resolved the problem. I can now see sparklies from a mile away, lol. I never knew you could do that!
