Grim Brimstone Hammer

Star Sharpened Cestus

Soulfire Kama

Tranquil Stone of Power

My quesion is what is the best combo? Does the delay difference between weapons make a difference? ie grim 3.5 and soulfire/star sharpened/stone is 2.5.. if thats a non issue i would say grim and star sharpened. If it is an issue id say Star Sharpened and Kama... What do yall think?

Its generally better to keep your weapons on the same delay. That way you can time it to do your CA's between auto attacks. I do not know if a longer delay is a good or bad thing though..thats something I've been wondering on also.

Longer delay is generally better due to our high haste. It gives you more time to cast between swings. Matching delay is also best for the same reason, it allows you to get your CAs in without missing auto attack.

Higher delay seems to give me more overall damage, especially when the crits go off.

it depends on how good you are at timing combat arts in between non like delay weapons. if you can do it just fine w/o sacrificing swings then GBH+SF kama is best. otherwise the cestus + kama is probably your best beted: if they are going to make other monk usable weapons with a higher delay than 2.5, please try and make 2 of them. either that or make them at other delays which match 2.5 well enough (like 5 for instance) for timing to be a non issue. the biggest gripe i had with the monk class before the weapon changes was the fact that we were limited to like 6 2.5 delay weapons total, 2 drop off contested, one requires a mayong kill, one dropped off a mob which people just couldnt learn to kill for some reason (hardshell baton), one drops off a mob which requires a competent scout to tank, and the other one in the end doesnt have a mate to go with it, if for some reason all of these things add up at once. now, i was in this boat right up till the weapons update, but since i had a cudgel of pain and battlehammer of might put aside it is a non issue now. still though, when putting in weapons for t8, please take this into consideration!!

Since I don't have a soulfire on my monk, was wondering if the hammer would be best if I had the GBH too. OK you lose the 5% DA (and some stats), but would that outweigh the advantage of having 2 weapons with the same delay.

Well the team who made KoS are making RoK, so hopefully we will get some decent brawler weapons.

Hopefully the Twin Calamites will come again but as 1.8-2.0 dly lvl 80 weapons.

Don't forget the Brimestone hammer wasn't designed for dual wielding like alot of other weapons, so they do have wierd delays.

Hopefully RoK team took the changes to heart and we don't get wierd delays.

EoF was shocking for Brawlers weapons, I mean sheesh look at the weapons warriors and scouts can get, you have to get contested drops to get brawlers weapons of similiar quality levels.

i was also thinking the kama and grim brimstone would probably be best but depending on grp set up you might want the star sharped. you obviously want to be in a grp with dps mods b/c haste is close to pointless since you'll only be receiving a 25% bonus to attack speed as opposed to our dps mod which will sit at 20% with adornments by ourselves. so if you'r grped with a dirge and zerker or even have a coercer (which has never happened to me) you would use kama but if you didnt have the dirge and coercer you should use the cestus for the extra dps proc.

i've also been wondering how much waiting and using your ca's inbetween auto attacks really helps? personally i spam them off auto attack and spam them off again. using them whenever they are useable. othewise i'd assume you would be waiting to use some ca's in between auto attacks after they'd have already cooled down.

what are your parses looking like with a decent grp setup? and specify what your grp setup is.

Star cestus and kama are the best for dps. Switch in Stone for kama when tanking
