No matter what I do when I go to transfer 1 of my characters it says the name is taken, Ive even random gibberish and it still says name is taken.

Must have gotten a nice one, the GM's that we got couldn't help us.

Well I have a friend who put in a petition 48 hours ago regarding this and still no word.No acknowledgment that it's brokenNo type of support over the phone, through live chat or in gameAnd no responses to the people who have been posting requesting helpThis is the part that erks people (if any SOE person is reading this). If something was messed up in the last patch(s) that are causing this then just state something, but the fact that there's even no acknowledgment on SOE's part is what ticks people off.

SoE - I am going to spell things out for you since you don't seem to understand my petitions.

I tried transferring servers on Wednesday, 17 October 2007. When selecting the server to move to, I got a naming error message. I thought "huh, that's weird. According to eq2players, this name is not taken."

Well, after doing some searching I discovered that some taken names on eq2players may not show up due to the server mergers that happened at the release of KoS. It seems that characters that have not logged into EQII after the servers were merged will not show up on eq2players.

Okay, that's all fine and dandy, but my name is very unusual, and very made up. So I said that's fine, let's try a few other names. I tried around 50 names and didn't have any success.

Okay, let's try a different server. No success.

Okay, let's have a buddy try to transfer. No success.

Okay, it is rejecting every single name, no matter what server, or who is trying to do it.

Okay, let's try to create a character that the online Character Transfer Service rejected. SUCCESS!!!

So, I tried to transfer a character to a server. Naming error. I suggest name Jarvack, it tells me no yet again. I go into EQII to create player Jarvack on the server that I wanted to transfer to, and it let me create that character without any problems.

So what does this tell me? Well it tells me that your automated Character Transfer Service isn't working.

I have contacted your online Chat Support. The TSR I spoke to told me to keep trying different names until it works and then told me "Unfortunately, I didn't get your issue," after about 30 minutes of explaining it to him over and over again. He told me to contact a GM online, that is when I wrote my first petition on 17 October 2007 at 7:06 PM PT. I have gone back and forth with GMs. Meanwhile, I have also called your Telephone Support. The CSR I spoke to there told me to fill out a form and wait 2 weeks or to contact a GM in the game. Well, try as he may, this particular CSR was unable to mail me a Manual Transfer Form from his registered SoE Employee e-mail address, so there's no luck there either (I even had to call back to ask him to e-mail it to me a 2nd time, but he was still unable to do so). The last I heard from a GM through a petition was 18 October at 4:46 PM PT. That is nearly 48 hours ago. This petition stated "I am escalating your issue to Account / Technical Support Department," and he then suggested I try the Chat Support and Phone Support method as well. Well GM, I've tried those with no luck, and your escalating my claim sure isn't being taken too seriously.

SoE, I have tried all 3 methods of your tech support and have gotten diddly. I have read time and time again about how under trained and utter crap the SoE CSR's are, but I never really believed it until now. I always just assumed "oh people just want impossible things or don't explain things correctly."

I have browsed on some EQII forums unrelated to SoE and have seen people complaining of the same error as me. I see it here on the OFFICIAL EQII Forums. And yet, I see no response from SoE saying anything about it. There is obviously something wrong.

Your automated account to account transfer service is working though, so you're not at a total loss.

I am very disappointed and [Removed for Content] off.

I have been trying to transfer a character for the last few days as well. On the 22nd the service started working once again and I was able to get my husbands character transfered no problem, not 5 min later i tried to get mine done, well it didnt go through, i got an email saying they had an error, to try again basicly. So i tried again, got past the credit card and confirm page, but no further. I checked my credit card and lo and behold, there is a charge there for moving my character that is STILL NOT MOVED. I have been trying to contact support via phone, the chat service, and email. It seems im being ignored, and i am getting a little more then upset. I dont have 50 bucks to throw away. It took me a month to save 50 bucks so i could do this transfer. I have not tried the in game petition but i am going to go do that now. If i dont get a reply and some help with this, SOE is going to find they have one enraged customer!...but im sure im not the first

"
Technical, In-Game and Account support will be in limited operation on Monday, October 22nd 2007 due to wildfires in the San Diego area. During this time, support will be available but response time may be delayed. We will keep you updated with any changes in the situation.

Well, since the wildfire affected SOE'S support service, dose it mean that the characther transfer service will be delay to fix up for this reason?Oh,I am so sorry for the resident's of the San Diego .Hope the fire wil get control soon.

God bless you all.Let's pray for them safe .
