View Full Version : Caan't start the game since the patch (mss32.dll)

<p>Hello there, hope there someone who have a solution to my problem : Since the last patch who occured this morning, i'm unable to start EQ2. After a long download for the update, the patcher try to download 2 files : dbghelp.dll or something like that and another files with a similar name.  Then i get an error msg saying that EQ2settings.exe can't start because he cant, find mss32.dll.</p><p> Problem is mss32.dll WAS in my EQ2 directory.  But, call me fool, i delete it to repatch with full scan.  Same results, except that even with a full scan, the file mss32.dll isn,t back in my EQ2 dir !?!?</p><p>What the hell happen to my EQ2 install, i mean last night everything was fine, then patch, then boom, no eq <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Thanks in advance for your help. </p>

<p>I wish it could be that easy. The .dll fromt hat websiter isn't working, once installed you get an error <a href="mailto:_AIL_set_sample_volume@xx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">_AIL_set_sample_volume@xx</a> .</p><p>I'm pretty sure it have something to do with the two last files my patcher try to dowload : dbghelp.dll and dbhelp.dll </p><p>These files try to open EQ2settings.exe who give me the error.  I found a way to recover my original mss32.dll in vista, but i still get the message that EQ2setting.exe is unbale to find it.  Curiously, if i put a copy of mss32.dll in the system32 folder of windows, EQ2setting.exe find it, but tell me that the .dll is at the wrong place.</p><p> Please, tell me i don't need a fresh install who worth at elast 5 hours of download <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

This might eliminate the crashing.</p>
