OK, so this is a tad embarrassing. My computer isn't all that bad... It's rather good actually (save for the lack of RAM perhaps)..and I know quite a few people who have worse computers than me and still manage to play EQ2 on higher settings than me. I can run most other games quite nicely, it's just EQ2 that seems to devour my specs and spit them out...or something, heh. Here's the thing... Normally, I don't lag all that much when I have my profile set to Very High Quality... But as soon as I hit Neriak, Freeport or Darklight Wood it's...I can't move. Screen freezes...it's impossible. I have to drop it to Extreme Performance and even THEN it lags rather extremely. It's annoying because the Q's aren't exactly gentle to me and I can't fight back 'cause I suffer a huge lagspike each time someone steps in close. This is quite frankly a bit ridiculous, I have;Windows XP Home

P4 3 GHz processor

512 MB RAM (I know, this one sucks)GeForce 6200, 256 MB

I've done everything...Defragged, scanned, compressed files, upped my paging file, updated GFX drivers... It only gave me a little performance boost, hardly anything. I wonder why DLW lags so much, specifically......So I'm tkinking... Eitherway I know I need more RAM.. I am thinking about getting 1 gig, but I don't know if it will stack with my current RAM or not. If it does, I'll have about 1.5 gigs... I'm curious if buying more RAM will help;a) reduce lagb) make area loading quicker 'cause it's slow as heck atm

I am also thinking about purchasing a new Graphics Card...but I'm not sure which one to go for. I do want a good card. Not neccessarily the best, but pretty good and highly ranked/valued in the GFX card quality list. Some input would be appreciated on this. Also, I have another question;Quite often I find that the game freezes... Well, the screen freezes and then the computer reboots itself. It's rather frustrating, meaning I log on to find myself dead a lot. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Lack of RAM? It's not the GFX card drivers 'cause like I said, they're updated.

Hope someone can help me with this. I'd appreciate some help! Thanks in advance,Eow

The RAM will make it load faster and reduce lag both. Right now your system is essentially starving from lack of air. It may also explain the freezing as well.
