why is it the downloader constantly freezes up? I've been updating this game now forever!. the game would have been finished downoading if it didnt freeze every 5 minutes.

Ok, as I explained to the past few Vista users and to which we also have a stickied thread for Vista users...You need to either disable UAC (User Account Control) and right click the game icon and set it to Run As Administrator or you need to uninstall and then reinstall the game away from the default path of "C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II" to anything other such as "C:gamesSonyEverQuest II" or "D:SonyEverQuest II".

Then you might want to <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=353617" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">read this</a> before we continue as you posted into a thread where a gentleman had Vista and exclaimed you had a similar issue.
