Hiya fellasI have a lvl 17 warlock and im having a rough time on my pvp server. On most encounters i get [Removed for Content] - totally.Thats okay, since im not completely twinked. But what worries me is that im dead in 0.5-2 secs which means i dont even get to turn around or cast a spell.I know that T2 pvp is not fair and so on.. but i was wondering what could possibly make a great change for the warlock in higher lvls so they at least havea slight chance in pvp? is it manashield? or how do warlocks survive at least 5 secs?Could anyone give me a minor describtion on how the pvp fares on the higher lvls? Thanks- Rezwal

Warlocks are at their best in a group in pvp. With a tank to take some of the heat off you and a healer to keep you upright, a warlock can really put a dent in a group. If your going to solo alot you'll want to work towards getting manashield to survivie against scout classes that prey on cloth wearers.

Okay thanks for the info But does that mean that warlocks are not that great in 1v1 pvp?or when i come to think about it - is there any 1v1 pvp in the higher lvls at all?Thanks- Rezwal

Warlocks are very good in solo pvp, as long as you have manashield (and the increased mitigation, casting skills (very good against resists), damageshield etc from sta line)That + either STR or AGI line will keep you alife pretty good, and nuke the hell out of groups. When u get Nullmail (i think its 40ish) you can start to try to cast manashield when nullmail triggers, then you have not much to worry about anymore (for the next 30 seconds anyway).Oh, and focused casting from EoF tree... for a quick boom <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Take str + sta there is no better choice. Here is my fast break down over the kos skill trees;

str - raid and solo tree - gives you crit chances and parry wich is a nice bonus for pvp (be sure to enchant your bracers for the same). Also lets you crit your enemy once with something strong (say apoc... nice to see an apoc crit in pvp).

agi - Raid only tree. never use it anywhere but raid. Its trash compared to anything else, but its fairly good in raids, so take it there. Basicly gives no bonus or a very little bonus outside raids.

sta - Solo only tree. And its necesarry for pvp, basicly - every scout, no matter how awful he is - will chop your head off unless you have mana shield.

wis - thats okay tree, but compared to str (solo,raid), sta (solo) or agi (raid) - its too bad. So its just not good enought for raid to take and not good enought for solo to take. Its just... so-so. Dont bother with this since you have better options. Still maybe useful for farming since saves you some mana on difficult nameds but... thats just theorycraft.

int - I dont know what this tree for. It dosnt really solves your aggro problems, its just gives you two more ways to deagro wich isnt really a solution. Forget about that tree.

So based off my point of view there really no choice how to spec for warloc if you want only the best.

All above is only mine opinion based off my personal experience and all my points may be argued.

Now i can chill a bit again and look forward to the lvl 40ish.I can see i have made a major mistake by picking the AGI skill tree on a PvP server. Hmm... i will need to respec somehow.I think about going AGI and then STR.But then again - how do i respec? heh.Thanks- Rezwal

I wouldnt say agi is crap, the faster casting times and reuse timers do pretty much the same thing that the increased crits do in STR tree.. but then again, you burn your power much quicker so yes.. str prolly the better choice.I'd go with STA (sorcerer) first, and after that focused casting (Warlock).. then back to sorcerer - STR ... and then last either propagations (group pvp) or explosives (solo pvp).
