Yesterday I completed my Qeynos to Freeport betrayal quest and went from a level 55 warden to a level 56 fury (that ding was a great welcome to Freeport surprise). The motivation behind my choice: my warden healing is very good but most of the time I wish I could have add some real dps between heal spells, the battle warden specc was not satisfying enough in terms of dps for me. Plus, my partner (for when I am not a group healer) is a berserker and duoed with a fury the other night and said he really prefers a fury as a healer/partner... things were dying very fast, he loved the fury dps and buffs and never was scared for his health. Now I was often complaining a bit about my lack of dps in our duo, so betraying to become a fury was the right choice probably.

Now if I want a good mix between heals and dps, a true hybrid, how should I spend my AA points? The intelligence tree seems important with spell crit and probably agility for wild regeneration... or is stamina for serene focus a better choice? As a warden I know I was in love with the strenght tree (I was str and stam), natural boon was very useful and saving me lots of power in duo situation.

What are furies using for a heal/dps hybrid specc?Thank you.

Use the DPS spec. Right out of the box we are capable healers. Spec Int for the crit and if your fight mobs that con yellowish or higher you might want the bonus stormvision gives. Then spec stamina for the heal crit if you feel your still not healing enough. If you think your alright for now with your healing then spec down the energy line in the EoF AAs then go for the heal crit. After that its wherever you want. Since your duoing with a zerker i would recommend the animalism line. It boosts your group HP regen buff (stacks with the zerker ones), your group int buff (nice for your spell damage), Savagry and Procupine (both of which are good for any tank or for when your solo), and animal form is handy if you find yourself running low on mana pretty often. But that is my 2 copper, if you think you like something else in the trees go for it.

I first maxed out my wisdom, being a Fury you will find your biggest bump in the road is power. Animal Form is nice, but sometimes you just cannot get in there and melee to get the regen if your tank is dying and there's no one else to keep them stable, so it's good to build a good power pool just in case. The other line I went down was for the immune to stifle ability. I play on a PVP server, so that one is pretty important to me when I am out and about.

Alot of furies take gear purely looking for int, sometimes at the cost of wisdom. Yeah your spells will be vicious strong but you can only cast like 10 of them. In the end we are priests and our main stat is allways going to be wisdom. With my fury I loaded up on wisdom heavy armor then grabbed my extra int from jewelery. The higher tier rare jewelery has some great int on it.

I consider INT 4-4-6-8-2 and the Energy line till Vortex (pick 2 dots, thunderbolt, starnova all at 5) two cornerstones of furies, YMMV on this.I also have a 4-4-6-8-2 in STA, heal crits help and the stun immunity on demand for you and as a proc for your heal targets are welcome additions.I always considered trying the WIS line, but never managed to actually do it.Another nice line is the one leading to Animal Form in the EoF tree. I particularly love that AA and it can be really useful sometimes in solo and in some groups.Gear wise, I got all the wis and int I could get, with sta as 3rd pick (but never neglected). If you use the mastercrafted armor and jewelry, you'll have a quite decent gear for your level stat-wise, just get both rings imbued with INT In T7 get all the proc gear you can put your ends on, the Orb from the collection, the mace from the quest in Bonemire and the Bone clasped girdle are good to have.Have fun on your fury, it's a great class.

Thank you very much! I followed the advices and up to now it's working pretty well. I still have to check out how my heals will fare in a stressing group situation but for the duo and solo part I must admit I am having more fun as a fury then a warden... read here it doesn't take my half an hour to kill/help kill something (yes I know am exagerating lol). I am still trying to get used to the new spells and strategies but that is part of the fun =)

I was surrounded my guild members who had the DPS and needed better heals. My Fury, although capable, couldn't handle the spike DPS as well as my warden now does. The extra HOT's you get on your heals is amazing. Plus, with enough strength gear (which is possible) you can shell out a pretty large amount of DPS. I never find myself lacking in this department, even against Fury's with AA's in their 2 main nukes to lower cooldowns. Of course, natural boon (??) is a free heal from the melee dps too which makes life easy on ALL druids but mainly benefits Wardens CA AA's.

I hope you liked your choice, I know I did mine

Your Druid spec will depend a lot on whether or not you plan on raiding, and what your usual style is. Go AGI/INT for raiding, STA/INT or WIS/INT for casual play--maybe even STR/INT if you're going to melee a lot. Fiddle with the numbers all you want, but go down INT no matter what, get Infusion if you want DPS and get Tortoise Shell if you're going to raid.Your Fury spec, on the other hand, won't vary much. There's just no good reason for any fury to /not/ go down the Energy line; the only question will be what spells you focus on buffing on your way to getting EV. I recommend 5 points each in your two dots and two primary nukes.I can see an argument being made for putting points into Hindering if you're primarily going to solo or farm stuff. Other than that, the rest of your points should go into the Animalism line, possibly branching off for the Hiber upgrade. Forget most of the Recovery line; it's worthless and does almost nothing for improving your healing effectiveness. The bottom line is that as someone else put it above, the fury is an excellent healer right out of the box. With my raid spec I can solo heal just about any group, provided the tank isn't in cloth. We don't benefit all that much from crit heals, due to the fact that most of our heals are fixed values rather than ranges. From a gear and spec standpoint, treat the fury like a mage wearing leather and you'll do well as a hybrid.
