In response to the threads: 'Absurd' and 'scout bug! over>powered!':

Proc'ing more? INT stats are probably higher.

Aside of that, I really don't understand why people have such a problem with one class being better than another in certain senerios. That's not just in game -- that's life!

Necro pet tank more powerful than your scout or fighter in duel/PvP? Necro = Mage = Magic User = Cloth wearer. Duh! Feel fortunate that they can't summon more than one tank pet at a time (like most mage related classes in rpgs); OR play one yourself. Mages are powerful... because they use MAGIC. So when a single fighter takes on a single mage - the mage is often going to win (if they know how to play a mage). That's the point. Dueling is to challange each class to improve on a personal basis. People dueling shouldn't carry this notion over to PvP. This is where the all-powerful mage is overtaken by multipule fighters: gangs, armies, whatever.

Anyone who thinks that classes should be equal or that opposing classes are "over powered" in PvP really have no business playing PvP. Go back to the storyline games that are less challanging. If you want to beat something that is more powerful than you, then you find the means to do it, instead of complain about how you've just been pwn'd.

Imo there should be a massive revamp to the game. not to balance but to restore the classes to what they were before all the nerfing to pacify crybabies. I play the class i do becouse I like what they can do. you try to balance out classes and you rob players of the class defining abilities that made then choose it in the first place.

As a necro I know what to do and when to do it, if i loose a fight it is not becouse they are more powerfull or flat out over powered, it is becouse I screwed up! Alot of nerfs on my class have effected my play style in pvp but yet a good pvper can use what they have to win vs any class.

PvP is as a whole. If you want accurate solo pvp balance, only 1v1 those of your same class.

Support classes need to stop complaining when they get owned by dps classes.

There are so many factors involved in successfull pvp that someone is always neglecting more than half of those factors. In no particular order: Class vs. Other Class, Human Error, Mental Breaking Points, Bad/Good Dice Rolls, Player Skill, Outside from the computer factors, Gear good/crappy, Spells/Combat arts apprentice or adept or master, etc....the list goes on and on.

As a lvl 35 dirge I attacked a 47 ranger once in SS, just to see if I could do it and I did. In my over 3k enemy kills, that was the first and only time so far I have had a battle where it came down to who got the next hit and we both got the last hit and we both got credit for the kill. Now, people can debate my success and the outcome all they want, but the battle happened and I was stoked I did so well against a player so much higher, but the fact is there was a plethora of factors that worked in my favor. I chose a moment the player did not have a charmed pet, I had been watching him, I knew he could have one. I checked out his buffs and observed his gear best I could and how long it took him to beat equal con solo mobs. I could tell from experience he was mostly app1-2 and crappy gear. Im 35, all masters and top of the line gear. My skill is top notch, his was not. He had trouble with 2 solo mobs at the same time. So, when the moment was right and he was alone and not fighting on the beach, I pounced. He was full hp and power and knew I was coming, I couldnt not hide from him he was so much higher level. But, the battle came out as I said it did and I enjoyed it a lot, but like I said, FACTORS.

That is PvP. Not some lame lets name my Zygomid pet some variation of '1v1 me' and go off on the grassy gnoll and have it out.

PvP is about you being out solo and getting rolled by a couple dozen opposition who have banded a posse together to Torment players like you.

PvP is about trickery and/or honor, its about WINNING. The losers always have a reason for losing while the Winners celebrate their victory.

Once an Exiled bruiser got his friend to come and help kill because I snared him and ran when he popped CHI. He then logged on and called me a coward for not staying for the duration of Chi. LOL

Some people really have no clue about strats.

PvP is based on exactly 2 things above all others; Gear (including masters) and class.

Case in point: My guardian, at level 33, with some number of AAs around 30, managed to kill a level 47 guardian who got the jump on me. I won because I had better gear (I inspected said guardian in town a couple days later, he was wearing t3 gear, vs my t4 mastercrafted)

I'm also going to take some credit due to class knowledge and skill, but at 70, its almost totally decided by gear and class.

Again... its called strategy. People will do ANYTHING it takes to get a kill, even if it takes 20 guys to do it. And there is no class that is near being overpowered.

It's very easy to say that when you're playing one of the classes that are considered overpowered. Especially since you wont see more than one or two of the other 'overpowered' class. While I don't agree that rangers are unbeatable, one screw up and they will kill you. Same deal with Swashbucklers.

Try playing a necro, then tell me that there are no overpowered classes. Try playing a Dirge on Freeport allignment, then tell me that there are no overpowered classes.

Wether you want to admit it or not, some classes are just plain better at PvP than others. It's class design, followed by gear, followed by skill. And skill is a VERY distant last in that equation.

Spend a week PvPing on a berserker then go onto a swashbuckler and you'll see in a second why track is so very useful.
