Monk Question - Bare hands vs Weaps

<p>I have been told different things from different people.  I just reached 50 and one person told me at 50, to drop bare hands and str line, and go to weaps. Another told me stick with str line and bare hands till 70, then go to weaps.  </p><p>I have tried both and i think i do a little better dmg with my staff and the WIS line.  Also, when i typed /weap, and compared my DPS, it was much better with the staff then with the bare fists.  However, many people are still telling me stick with bare hands.....  Anybody who knows from experience?</p>

my monk is also 50. havent used weapons since 45 or so. i think there is a diff in dps. more dps without weapons. i seem to hit for more damage but i dont get any imbued weapon procs anymore   <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/e78feac27fa924c4d0ad6cf5819f3554.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

<p>Unless the weapons are good fabled weapons, focus on haste items and go bare handed. Delay is long, but the dmg output is huge.</p><p>Default dealy on bare hands is 2.0</p>

I suggest you check out the Monk forums, because there are a lot of topics discussing this.But to give you an idea, str aa is the cheap way to go. But if you have the money, I suggest you go with dual wield master crafted for several reasons:1. When going bare handed (strength line) you miss out on a lot of stats that you could be getting from using MC or better weapons.2. If you fight a yellow or harder mob, you'll have a hell of a time hitting them (bare handed) because +piercing/crushing buffs do not affect bare handed combat (aka, your offensive and balanced stances are useless), and therefore your DPS will go drastically down.3. You don't get <i>that</i> much more DPS using bare handed (against even conned or lower mobs) vs MC/Legendary weapons if you know how to time your CAs according to your haste properly.But, I leveled to 70 using the Str aa because I was a cheap [I cannot control my vocabulary] and didn't want to upgrade weapons <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />(P.S. Your offensive/balance stance wouldn't be TOTALLY useless because you still get the haste buff, but they wouldn't be worth using).
