I just returned to the game and it seems some new mounts were added? What are all the new mounts and are they bought or quest?

Try the Warg quest. It's in Loping Plains in Somborn Village. The quest is easy, yeilds a nice bit of gold, and upon completion the questgiver will allow you to purchase a +45% movement Warg. It costs several platinum. Some mounts can also drop from Raid targets, such as Mayong Mistmoore's personal warg mount, Dhume.

You have to buy them from the warg dealer in Lopping Plains but he won't sell you any until you do a few quests for him. There is also an armored warg that drops from LoN packs. It takes about 10 to 15 packs to get one and those packs cost 10 plat each so the armored warg is worth a 100+ plat.Edit: In about 30 days they will be adding a new Rhino mount.

It becomes available in the late 50's...but if you try it then, bring a friend.

TheKreep wrote:
What level is that quest?
Minimum level for the warg quests is 55. I did it at 55 with my monk, with HUGE help from a good friend who's a 70 SK. Then did it again with my 55 guardian and that same good friend. He also helped me with my 62 ranger and 70 warden. Hmm, a lot of wargs in my family.

Just make sure you're in your defensive stance, take whatever STA/HP boosting pots you can, and don't do the quest at night. There's a certain degree of pride in knowing that you actually worked for your warg, rather than let your level 70 buddy play meatshield and get it on the easy.

By the way, keep in mind that you don't need to actually bring the dire wolf/ravager/worg all the way back to the trainer. The act of successfully muzzling it completes that step of the quest. If you get aggro and it ends up getting killed, it doesn't matter, you'll still get credit.

Oh, and you have 10 minutes with the dire warg as your pet. I recommend having some fun with your new level 67 friend.

Did them solo on my Warden at level 62.

I probably should have just said finger-wiggler there, since it can also be done by non-tanks (as the previous posts show). Good defense, or good avoidance, are the keys since for the final step you're going to have a level 67-69 mob chewing on you for 8 seconds (or a bit longer, if your focus is low).

I was trying to think if there was a strategy a high 50s solo caster could use. A pet caster with a buff melee pet may be able to do it. With pure casters, roots won't work, and I don't think stun/mez would stick on a mob that's 10 levels higher than you. If someone did manage to solo the warg timeline, I'd be interested in hearing how they did it.

I did it with my Necro - invis up to the warg, muzzle it using the pet to take its attacks, invis again and walk calmly back to hand it in.

I also did it with my SK - the first two wolves are fairly easy to get as they are both just outside the village, but for the last one I trained out to it, FD'd when I got there, muzzled it and evacced back to the village.

They are a doddle really. All mages can invis to the warg and should have the necessary tools to root, charm or divert the warg while you muzzle it, then invis to hand in. All scouts can evac it back in. Fighters and priests can probably get away with jaguar totems or enlist the help of some mates if it is proving particularly tricky.

The "necessary tools to root, charm or divert" don't work terribly well against red-con mobs that are 10+ levels higher than you. And root wouldn't work in any case because to use the muzzle, you have to be close enough for the warg to actually bite you.

Sure, doing it in your low-to-mid 60s is going to be a cakewalk for the most part because the wargs are going to be orange or yellow to you. But then that's not much of a challenge, is it?

As a defiler or mystic it should be easy, just throw all your wards on the pet then deaggro and let the pet tank em while you muzzle. I found it extremely easy at 55 with my Defiler
