anyone who has experience with these 2 cards please provide some infos. Im not a PC noob. i knwo what each of these cards can do, my question remains as to whether or not it is actually worth the $200 or so extra that the gtx is over the gts. if eq2, and other games of this time are barely touching the gtx, then i see no reason to go that route.

More of a matter of how much memory does each card have. Pick the one that has the most.

Save yourself the $200 bucks and get a 8800 GTS 640MB instead of the GTX. With either card, this game will leave the GPU not fully used. I have a 8800 GTS 640 myself and the cards full ability and memory are never fully tapped.

The other thing is this game was designed when 512MB was the very top edge of video card memory. I have no solid proof on hand, but once you pass that mark, I don't think it matters very much.

depends, if you have a big tft (talking 24" and up) the GTX is pretty much required since tft's hate being run below native resolution... but, if you run games at a "normal" resolution the GTS is the way to go.

For 1280*1024 you only need 256-320mb.
