Not sure what is going on, but sometimes i will log in and everything from run speed the the rate of timers will be agonizingly slow. So, i will quit eq2 and restart it then it could be slow again, normal, or everything goes super fast. I was wondering if anyone else has similiar issues or knows what to do to stop this. Not sure what info you might need for this so just ask and ill give it. thanks in advance

If so go to amd's site and get the new drivers and optimizer from them, install and see if thatt resolves the issue

It does sound kinda like you have a AMD X2 cpu.. altho I've never seen the super slow issue.

I just did a format/reinstall for my GF and forgot to do the AMD dual core drivers for XP.

She logged into EQ2 and was running around about 1000mph. So I said "oops" and installed the drivers.

thanks for helping,i do have the 64x2 amd but i did already have the drivers and optimization tool installed. Guess i should have said something about it, but i didn't because i had never heard of the slow issue either. Lately its been about 30% of the time the slow problem, 60% is close enough to norma that it is fine and 10% of the time it runs fast.

AMD/ATi video card installed as well on the 64 x2? Reason I ask is there is one system in our house that started exhibiting the symptoms again despite the patches. It began around Catalyst 7.8. I haven't tried the new 7.10 on that system yet so can't say if they even fixed it or not. But something they did around Catalyst 7.8 caused an issue on my one system.
