Hi,

I just put on station access tonight and thought I may as well have another look at eq2. I downloaded the whole game via the station launcher but when I got into game I noticed my old Fae and Iskar characters were totally invisible. So I did a full scan and it downloaded some files.

Logged back in and they were still missing. Went into SOGA options and turned them on and off (lots) no change (except some of my other char managed to get white wireframe for skin with them off.

I then tried making some new characters and noticed frogloks, evil fae and I think it was high elf were also totally missing.

So I logged back out - in once more and it downloaded the same files again. Did another full scan - it downloaded the same files again!

Next I totally uninstalled EQ2 and have just started it downloading again - I wait until I saw the files in question were meant to be down, then cancelled the download and told it to full scan. It found the EXACT same files corrupt yet again.

From EverQuest2Patch.log

[02:20:46] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy C for [EverQuest 2 Main Files] C:EverQuest IIpaksChar_ECA2.vpk: local -1680458137: server 762715991[02:20:46] Patcher: Checking File: paksChar_ECA2.vpk[02:20:46] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy (CRC) Confirmed. File is incorrect version.[02:20:46] Patcher: Checking File: paksChar_ECA3.vpk[02:20:46] Patcher: --- Refreshing cache for file.[02:20:46] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy C for [EverQuest 2 Main Files] C:EverQuest IIpaksChar_ECA3.vpk: local -737060158: server -1683579223[02:20:46] Patcher: Checking File: paksChar_ECA3.vpk[02:20:46] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy (CRC) Confirmed. File is incorrect version.

[02:39:16] Patcher: Checking File: paksZDDS21.vpk[02:39:16] Patcher: --- Refreshing cache for file.[02:39:17] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy C for [EverQuest 2 Main Files] C:EverQuest IIpaksZDDS21.vpk: local 27597992: server -966664328[02:39:17] Patcher: Checking File: paksZDDS21.vpk

There was one more (whoose name I have forgotten and it hasn't redownloaded yet). I have used and rebooted my pc and a quick search on the forum showed I'm not the only person having a problem with this.

Can you please check the files on the patcher as the problem really does seem to be there.

Euro - first time was "Play the Fae" next was the US generic installer with region changed to EU from drop down thingy

There have been problems already reported concerning corrupt files from the Euro patcher. If you use the US region you should be able to patch without any problems. Try that and see if it helps.

Yup US patcher worked for me too (I did a seperate install overnight).

Maybe, as it seems SOE know about this but can't be bothered to fix it, this thread could be stickied for a while to save other people download 15gb in one day because of 4 corrupt files.

Yeah, this worked wonders for me and a guildie as well. However, one other issue arose for us both: Wireframe trees.Picture of example:I've searched the boards but couldn't come up with anyone saying they have the same problem. I was personally gonna wait for the Shard of Fear update to hit EU servers then do a full scan, but since my guildie got the same issue by following the same procedure described in this thread, I thought it'd be better to report it.

My wife and a guildie have both had the white-wireframe graphic problem at different times.

Both where using Nvidea graphics card and both solved the problem with an update of graphics drivers.
