Who respects anyone with a title these days? Any one who knows the basics of pvp in EQ2 realizes quickly that title has little to do with skill, #of kills, or Kills vs. Death ratio (Kvd). It has more to do with the following:

1. HT, evac, camp out for 15 min.. Rinse and Repeat. (SKs are not the only class that do this, others can do similar)

2. You stand at a cloud landing point in KoS and knock people off as they land. (You get fame/infamy)

3. Your a gray con who follows around players much to high for you to group with, but when they are succeeding at defeating someone you throw in a hit and get fame/infamy.

These are only 3 examples of how 'most' high titles are attained. There are other ways to do it as well, Im sure many of you know them. The situation I am trying to bring to light is that TITLE should reflect SKILL & SUCCESS in PvP, which is found in your # of Kills and # of Deaths. If you have 3200 kills and 210 deaths, your skill should be reflected in this, your prowess should have an esteemed title. If you have 14000 kills and 8000 deaths (which oddly many do) than your title should not be anything to be proud of because you have a less than 2 to 1 KvD.

As it is right now, you actually have no way from inside the game of knowing who is an experienced pvp'r and who is not by looking at them. Title does not tell you much about the player at all and in no way demonstrates their skill/prowess/success at PvP!

This kind of thinking is just as bad as the titles themselves. For example, myself and people I group with want to pvp, we could care less about kvd and titles. So because we like to stand and fight, even though the odds are against us, then according to what you say, the title that we do gain should mean nothing?Actually, when the odds are against you, then the fame ratio or status points should go way up for a kill if you get 1 before dying. I say remove titles, leaderboard,KvD and /pvp in game stats and lets have some pvp. Im more interested in status points, tokens, (taking over zones for sp-faction or bonus', taking over a keep or stronghol d. To many classes are way out of balance to even have titles anyway.

The ways u get fame cheaply, like you stated gives you a kill each time...Stating kvd ration doesnt state your a good player either. =P

It won't change anything, and people will still run like little chickens. Mages and others who tend to die fast will still get the shaft once again, while evac'ers will keep evac'ing like never before. Conclusion: This is not a good alternative.

Its hard to imagine anything less related to skill then the current titles system....but KvD....wow....you think that means something?.....

wow, wtg picking the only statistic that could make PvP worse as the basis for titles.

Your saying people HT and camp, follow reds and leech etc with the current fame system. How would this change stop this?

In a way, Its like the fame system except you can gain and loose fame from ANYONE. People already ditch groups/guard hug/hide in perma-immunity when they can only loose a title to some1 +1/=/-1 of them, how would it be if they could loose a title to anyone?

Anyone can roll in a full group and get a very high KvD, once again this does not reflect skill.

So:

1) 99% of people will now only PvP in groups.

2) More Zone Hopping.

3) More Guard Hugging.

4) More Cliff Diving.

5) More ditching groups.

6) And possibly more people exploiting.

Seriously, did you actually think about what your point before you made the post?

you have to punish the zone hoppers, run aways, guard huggers and such... if you run away it should count as loosing... that would make people actually try to turn a fight over in their favor instead of running if they see a risk of being defeated...
