I was wondering if there was a way to speed up combat. The reason for this is while I like the paladin because of the gear and how they look but the kill really slow. Is there a way to increase the speed so that it is comparible to say a fury?

Thanks all!

Fight undead, get the AAs that give spell crits and melee crits and go down "wraths".... you'll be shocked at how much dps you can actually ut out if you really work at it but don;t expect it to be power efficient.

Actually I find going all offensive is alot more power efficient than going defensive..

As Boli said. Get spell crits, melee crits, wrath line, proc gear/adornments, int gear/adornments and any item/adornment that will increase dps.

Get as many spells as possible to Master 1 and fight in offensive mode while soloing.

You'll be amazed as to how quickly you will kill stuff..

aye, I do fine soloing on my pally. The high 40s, low 50s are a bit rough (IMO) but I hit these before EoF came out, so it could be different now.

And I agree with Vulcan, offensive is far better than defensive, especially if you can get your hands on a decent 2 hander (Kettleleaders katana is nice, as is the one that drops off of the name right after Sofis in HoF). In your late 50s, the blade of the bixies is a great 1 hander and I used Warders call (as my sword and board sword) right up until I got my first fabled 1 hander off of Vyemm.

On the leveling up side, go after undead as you get a few extra procs and CA effects on them that will help you kill them faster (I spent from 25 to 30/31 killing the skelies out in TS near RoV).

Also, remember your AoEs, find small groups of mobs that allow you to get the most out of them and avoid mobs that are strong healers, they will make it seem like you are killing slower (this is actually the one place I'd avoid undead, the ones in zek are astronomical healers...)

For soloing I still use board and shield.. 2 adornments instead of one, better avoidance, 2 procs instead of one, etc etc..

Currently I use claymore guard+shadow axe.. trying to get a buckler of the howler + soulfire gladius..

yah, but until you get into the high t6 - t7 stuff, there really isn't a good enough 1hd to 'speed up' killing. There are some decent 2 handers though as you level that you can get your hands on.

Take advantage of your aoe's... if spec'ed right we do some sweet dps in group settings... consecrate is your friend as is the AOE at the end of wraths. If you can survive pulling 2, 3 or 4 solo mobs then go for it. By the time you have killed one the next will be down to less than 50%.

You can wait until you really, really have to go to the bathroom. You may not kill the stuff any faster, but you'll sure be sitting there chanting, "huuuurry, come on... huuuuury.."
