I noticed Bolster was not on there not to mention the SOW AA that increases run speed and adds safe fall.

Mystics get a line of AAs that gives them Combat Art versions of all of their offensive spells. Combat arts have no range, but are quick to cast, can't be interrupted and benefit from melee crit bonuses. CAs are boosted by STR (and to a lesser extent INT) which mystics are good at buffing. The mystic Combat AA line plus the shaman AGI line (which includes 100% melee crits) make the mystic a very effective melee fighter. This is particularly useful when soloing.

Burst damage is very important in eq2 because mobs tend to die quickly. In a group I rarely get a chance to get more than a single nuke off before it dies on my defiler.

Defilers defiantely have the advantage for debuffs and it's for the same reason that mystics get the dps advantage. Defilers get a casting speed increase and a power cost decrease to their debuffs if they take the cursing AA line. Defilers will get their debuffs on in half the time it takes for a mystic, plus they will have a better chance to stick to the target (and last twice as long and use less power).

One thing outside of the DPS and curses that you should look at too is that Defiler heal costs health to cast as well as power. Nothing sucks worse when you get banged up in a fight, pop a ward, and try to heal yourself but you can't because your too low on health.

The small cost of health on their heals is very small and minimal in the long haul. In healing, warding, debuffing and mana retention defilers beat mystics. It sucks and is only going to get worse.

Mystics are generally better healers versus groups while Defilers are more successful vs. single mobs. One main reason for this is that mystics get a physical damage absorption in one of their main buffs while defilers get a spell damage absorption. Groups of mobs will generally do a lot more physical damage than spell.

Also at higher levels I believe mystics get additional spells that work better against groups rather than single targets but I'm still in the 30s.
