This will be a very short summary of some causes of game disconnects, LD issues and updater problems that some may be experiencing. 1. You have PeerGuardian or PeerGuardian 2 installed These two programs for some reason block some of the IPs that SoE uses for the game to connect. This can result in issues from failing to connect in the first place to updating the game in the Launcher to disconnecting while zoning. How do I know this? I tested it.2. Norton Internet Security is installed More along the lines of the Launcher not updating the game. This one comes up often on the boards and I do recommend that people move completely away from this program.3. Software firewalls are installed such as McAfee or ZoneAlarm Same as above however you should be able to open or allow the game to use the ports through the program. If you are using a hardware router with builtin firewall you really have no need or use of such programs if you maintain good application security and proper precautions against infections.4. Antivirus programs like NIS, McAfee, AVG, Antivir, Clamwin are installed It is recommended that you turn off the "real time" scanning features of these programs so that the Launcher can update the game properly. Otherwise they will continue to cause issues. This is not limited to only this game as it is recommended by virtually all programs and even Microsoft for upgrades to its operating system in order to prevent problems.5. Wireless internet connection Sadly many things can interfere with a common Wifi connection such as a microwave or cell phone. This can, of course, cause your game to disconnect.
