Two new newb-questions:1) Im leveling, at 22 now - how far up the STR AA tree do I want to go as an unarmed monk.4-4-8-4 ive seen tossed around in other posts - do I not want to go all the way up to the CHI power?2) How do you "time" your combat arts in between auto attacks - do just pay attention to the animation of your character or do you watch the combat chat box for when you hit for damage? Thanks for all the help so far guys - im getting the hang of this!

I played with CHI for a while, it's a lot of fun to get top of the parse, but in the end every 15 mins is just too infrequent for me, and the AAs seem wasted in the lower STR line as I have fabled DWs.

Anyone have advice on timing your CA's in between attacks?Im just wondering if I should attempt to time them by animations on the screen or if i need to stare at the "combat chat text" the whole time im fighing?

You'll get a rhythm going eventually. But seriously, don't stress on it.

<p>I have the same question on timing. Should i watch for the auto attack animation, or watch for the auto attack damage numbers above the mobs head, or should i watch the combat chat? </p><p> I know at least in WoW (omg I'm sorry yes I used to play it please don't flame me) the auto attack animation was about half a second behind when the actual attack took place, and I had to use a swing timer mod to time my slams.</p>

<p>Timing your combat arts to fall between autoattacks is - in MY opinion - a big waste of effort.  The combat arts that require the most careful timing are stuns and stifles when fighting casters and priests.  After that, don't worry about it.  Especially at level 22.</p><p>If you're one of those parsing folks who needs to be tops at everything, so be it.  MAYBE you'll gain a small handful of DPS out of it...but unless you find that sort of thing to be "fun," it will be much more hassle than it's worth.  Unless you have a VERY slow weapon, you'll almost always swing in between combat arts even if you "spam" them, because of the cooldown timer between each art.  If you use Chi to get rid of that timer, then you might lose a bit of potential damage by not swinging in between combat arts.  Maybe.  A little bit.</p>
