OOC.

Well, like many players, I put my name in the hat for RoK Beta, and then today I think to myself, hey, best check (again, like it did before EOF Beta) that SOE have my correct email address. I know for a fact SOE had it correct then, as I received a Beta invite eventually. Since I have not changed this email address in years, I didn't expect anything to be awry, but no harm in checking.

So off I go to my profile, and lo and behold, my email address is set to ... a thirteen-digit number!!! What is that about?

So now I do not know how that happened. I have changed it in the account tool of course (and checked that the change has been accepted by logging out and back in), but on my profile it still gives that 13-digit number.

So now I am left wondering, have SOE somehow lost my email address?

Is there some way to be definitievly sure? And what the heck is that 13 digit number anyway??

OOC.

Now, after rooting back thru my old email history, I found an email where I *confirmed* by email address to SOE back on April 12th 2007, and I chose to confirm it again just now. This resulted in my email addy on my profile being changed back from the 13 digit number (whatever the heck that was!!) to this address.

The real question is - how do I know if I would have received a Beta invite or not now, since it would not have gone anywhere with that as my address?

Ho hum...

This was an issue right after the boards changed over and I believe (if I recall correctly) that is was just a visual issue and that your actual email was still active in the database.
