new monk question

<p>hiya, all</p><p>im currently deciding to make a monk on nag. server for pvp and just plan fun. Ive been reading the boards and people saying that going str line (4-4-8-4) i beleive is a good leveling spec? But then i see people saying thats unless you can get good weapons?  So my question is, if im going to be starting out, should i not even worry about weapons? can i solo with fists before i get the 4-4-8-4 AA build? If i have acess to MC batons, should i go a different AA build then?  If so what AA build would you suggest for a soloing/pvp monk?</p><p>thanks, any help for a new starting monk would be apperciated</p>

I've been looking for answers on this also. So far the best I've gotten is that if you can afford weapons with adornments, it might edge out str AA's based on the extra stats, the procs and the benefits of the adornments. Also the offensive stance's skill bonuses do not affect fists. In the end, if you have the time and money, it seems to be a personal decision really. Just get a parse, test it out. While bare fists may edge out weapons in pure DPS, you have to keep in mind the stats and such on weapons. I mean, who doesn't like the vampiric adornment? Thats a consideration I had not originally taken into mind when looking into it.

You would be hard pressed to find weapons what would match the STR line untill you are raiding KoS zone (or by from the broker). If you are leveling up a Monk/Brusier then I would suggest going down the STR line. As for what build is best on the PvP servers I wouldn't know. I would think 1 - 4,4,8,8,2 STR  and 4,4,8,5,2 INT would be a good build for PvP.

About when should we switch over? I had heard before to wait until I found weapons that were rating 56+ but with the new dual wield, the mastercrafted 62 weapons fit that now. Also do you know what weapon delay I should be after?
