Everytime there is a broadcast, ie - the server is coming down at such and such time, a new window pops up for me with that message in it. It doesnt matter if i close it out, it still pops up every single time the message does. Any ideas how to fix it?

What I would try is to Right Click on the new tab and select Chat Options. From there verify which boxes are checked then do the same to one of your existing tabs and check off the same boxes (you can leave the ones that are already checked alone, just add the additional ones to it). This should remove the need for a new chat window and the messages should now appear in your existing chat tab. These problems are usually caused by not having a particular channel checked off in any of your existing chat tabs so when a message comes through for that channel the UI needs to create a new chat tab to handle it accordingly.

This way you can elinimate any tab spawns that you are causing, and get down to only the ones that SOE's code causes.

At the moment SOE is in denial that the bug exists, and I've not trapped the conditions that it can be duplicated with. When they fix it, if ever, they will not announce it either.

Yeah, first thing I did was check the Chat Options. I had things for Broadcasts already checked to go in another tab. I also made sure that all the options were checked to go in to one tab or another. Its funny cause when I log in, the empty window is popping up in the middle of my screen w/o anything being in it. I have to close it out everytime I log in now =/. That part isnt a really big issue, but it is annoying when there are announcements or broadcasts and the thing pops up in the middle of my screen while Im playing.

System Messages go to every Window and are not linked to chat channels (the broadcast message option under chat doesn't actually do anything).Hence the fact that we get spammed by LoN in every window...
