I've had no problem what so ever playing EQ2 on my PC but I tried recently installing it on my Laptop and I've been plagued with problems. After I install EQ2 it will stop after a few file downloads and say it's finished (even though it would state that it had 3-4 more hours to go with downloads.) I've tried deleting the file it gets stuck on and letting it re-download but no luck, it keeps getting stuck on re-downloading files and then stopping after 1 of those files have finished downloading. Any help at all to get the Patch to download all the way would be greatly appreciated!System Specs1.7ghz Intel Centrino Duo1GB RAMWindows Vista Home PremiumGeForce Go 7600 (256MB)

We apologize for any difficulty running our games in Vista - Microsoft changed a few settings to Vista that can cause a few issues running some of our games. These instructions will help you load any Windows XP game in Vista: 1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon. This should allow you to run your program under Windows Vista

I have let it run its course several times (countless [Removed for Content] hours wasted), and actually gotten into the game once, but everytime I run the updater, it is redownloading the same files over again, around 3 hours worth on a pretty high speed cable connection. this along with the "app ran out of memory" error I have been getting is really pushing me to start looking for a replacement, even though I have been with EQ2 since 2004

Another thing you have to do after compatibility is set is 1. right click EQ2 desktop shortcut 2. select run as system administrator 3. select allow The program will run normal, but remember to do this everytime you go to log in and play. The UAC in Vista will not allow you to run that program as a user. You HAVE to run the program as system admin everytime on your machine. Poof your worries will dissapear if you do so. The UAC cancels updates in the login screen so it will seem as if your downloading over and over again. Try this and let me know I run a Vista Home Premium Laptop myself and have no problems as long as I'm running XP compatibilty and start the application this way everytime. I have 2.0 Duo Core 7300 Nividia GForce GO 2G Ram Windows Vista Home Premium Also go in and allow full access on the security settings for the progam you can do that in properties if you go into your drive where your main files are stored. You have to right click the .exe file and go into those properties. If you have any other problems let me know. I think I figured out most of the EQ2 bugs I had.

I'm having exactly the same problem, since last night's downtime, and I have Windows XP Pro, not Vista. It patches for about half an hour, then says Update Complete, but where the red Play button should be it's grey and says Updating. Underneath that it says Download and if I click it, the whole process starts again. I've defragged, run virus and spyware checks, turned off all unnecessary processes, with no difference.

Yep, i'm having the same problem on both US and EU server, US is ok: i just have to re-download some files over and over again (takes about 40 minutes) however, on the Euro server it takes about 55 minutes and i have to reclick download after every update because it cancels. And then it starts downloading the same file it just did, I can't enter the game on the EU servers anymore now. I'm not using Vista for as far as I know and i've never had this problem before. Anyone know what to do, please?

Thanks in advance, getting pretty desperate here, im sick of it .
