Hi all, new old vet returning to play a fae warden on Antonia Bayle. I have a question on setting up my AA's. I really only solo because, I don't have much time to get into or look for groups due to my playtime/hours.

I just hit 18 last night and started playing around with some of the AA's I have and I took 1 pt in shapeshift and about 7 in agility I think and 1 in root. I liked the fae but I REALLY LOVE playing as a wolf and tiger (not so much the treant). So with that being said, what would be the best route, as a mainly soloer to go with for AA's if I love to be in tiger/wof most of the time and pretty much am left with being only able to solo due to casual play and my hours i can play? I also don't want to mess myself up with picking the wrong AA's with my style I like(or am limited to) in playing.

My normal routine up until last night was to root, snare, HO, flame(ad1), Chill(m1) then rinse and repeat in combat mode with a couple HOTs as needed. I really like playing in the forms BUT I also want to be able to have a chance in groups, as in not entirely USELESS if I can get into a group.

oh and if you see Daphodill running around that's me, I'd like to group if I couldfigure out how to look for one..again..

Well, if you want to stick with spell casting, go Int, and Wis. I went melee, so I went Str, and Agi. I heal on 30% of my hits (the entire group gets healed) and I crit 75% of the time. Mitigation is good, and I dont have to spend money on spells, as all the melee versions update automatically. Really depends on your playstyle. I can be sole healer in a group, or backup in a raid, and be able to add to the dps. I bet if I went Int/Wis, and had adept III, or Master spells, My dps would raise, and I would be able to root/nuke mobs, instead of facing them head on.

INT really boosts the effectiveness of your offensive spells so a good way to go IMO for soloing. My weapon is a hammer so I went down the STA line as well (think its STA for hammers &nbsp which helped when I ran out of power. I did go for some WIS but not much as I had boosted WIS via my armour. All carefully thought out it was - then I started raiding and had to reset the lot!

Can't get rid of the two smillies together! It's not my day - and it's not 9 a.m. yet!

i made a primarily solo warden prior to EoF launch... after EoF came i respecced to melee warden. Have loved it so far. Imo, awesome in solo but also nice in group play. But, if you dont like melee... then go INT / STA lines or INT /AGI KoS lines and EoF the root enhances which you already have started working on.++Xan

From 50'ish to 60'ish I rolled as a casting warden with int/sta and roots. I'm back to melee, with the str line, all the melee ca's, and the roots line maxed so far. It's where a big ugly ogre like myself belongs, but a few things about the int line.Watch when, and where, you have that endline talent on. It's a great boost to your dps if your healing alot, which you of course, should be, but it's a pita when it breaks a mez, or nails a nearby mob. G'luck and have fun.

I'm a casting Warden, although my pvp one is set up for Melee. It's kind of a necessity there, but on a PvE server, my playstyle prefers Nuking.

Once you hit 20 (which I suspect you already have) your Mit Buff turns you into a Wolf that is different looking than the AA nuking Winter Wolf, and as you level up you get all kinds of 'fun spells' that give you other illusion options too. For RP purposes, you have a lot of things to choose from.

You can wear any of your forms at any time - just the 3 you get with your first AA point provide specific bonuses to specific actions....they don't define them though. If you decided you wanted to be in Treant form while meleeing something...more power to you. But the bonus for that is Tiger form ...etc.

I'm rambling. For Nuking, I have STA/INT on the Druid Tree with all the heal and Utility Possibilities on the Warden tree. For Melee, STA/STR on Druid, going right down the middle on Warden.

Good luck with your little Fae, and welcome back. I'll look for you..we are on the same server.

Just an update, I have been having a lot of fun playing my warden. I had some ingame help from an experienced warden in Butcherblock and I have made my way all the way over to Antonica and to south qeynos to do the armor quests. I've already completed 1.5 parts of them and am still working on the rest. This has been fun so far, melee was defintely by far the better choice for me. I also found I didn't have one of my weapons up to snuff (slashing) and so ended up getting a loer sword and just working on my defense and slashing against green and blue mobs...

It's on par now with my crushing and I have a couple more quests to complete and I think I'll hit level 26, leveling is going much easier now as a melee warden. I'm actually able to take a lot more hits and doing a lot more damage, and healing isn't to bad either. I joined my first group, went into stormhold last sunday with a plate guy, a mage of some sort and another warden. Oddly enough I found that either he was lagging or I was healing for most of the battles more often and still had plenty of mana power left over, while melee'g the whole time right beside the fighter. It was a really great group of 4 and I got almost all of my stormhold quests done, now i just have to go back to the library to turn in one and find some tree at the bottom to finish off part of my armor quest.

Thanks all for your help once again....

Keeping all your skills up is very important ... check your subjugation .... if its sub par, try using snare, root, aoe deagro , on some trivial mobs over and over , it will raise the skill faster than getting resisted on blue mobs half the time.

oh, i'll have to check that one as well. there is one of my caster lines that extremely low like 27 of 150 or something and I think it may be that one. Root/snares will raise it quickly I know what i'll be working on.
