Im a total newb and really like the monk so far, im only level 9 1) Can i use barefists for weapons? What do I need to focus on in order to work this angle? I notice I cannot afford even the cheaper stuff off the auction house (90s for the lowest hammer when I only have like 50s to my name so far).2) What AA's are best to go down for a solo monk - I am mostly just trying to solo the game and enjoy it as much as I can.3) Any special hints/tips or attack sequences I should know about? Currently I do Heroic->ForwardStrike->Stare combo and then throw in a Kick and Cold Fist attack and thats about it.4) I think I remember in old Everquest, monks not wanting to carry around much weight - is this still a concern? Thanks in advance for the help!

1) The STR line in the AAs gives you a nice bonus in damage if you want to go bare fisted and can't afford the best weapons (this line actually gives you more damage except for very good weapons).

2) For KoS AAs, STR as mentioned, and maybe WIS, the end line ability crane flock is nice.

3) Give enough time between your CAs to allow your auto attack to hit.

4) Weight is not a problem, we can probably carry more than anyone as our STR is so important it tends to be high (due to the equipment we select).

Thanks for the advice - very useful.im glad I can just use my fists - this game really seems a pain to a newbie who has never had any high level characters with tons of gold because everything is so expensive.

heh, I lug around 32 slot boxes in every bag slot and they're loaded with junk, so carrying stuff is not an issue at all

As mentioned, unarmed + Str AA is very good for leveling. But at higher levels, when you can afford pristine imbued mastercraft weapons, I'd consider switching and resetting AA.2) What AA's are best to go down for a solo monk - I am mostly just trying to solo the game and enjoy it as much as I can. - Depends on your role. I tank a lot for our guild, so I went Sta and Wis so far, and I really like it. The Agi line is also nice.3) Any special hints/tips or attack sequences I should know about? Currently I do Heroic->ForwardStrike->Stare combo and then throw in a Kick and Cold Fist attack and thats about it. - Hm, around level 50, you have 10 direct attack skills, plus feign death, scare, taunts, mountain, rescue, intervene, a heal, and a few short-timer buffs (Shocking Hand line etc), plus any AA attacks. As mentioned above, space them out, watch your power, order the icons on the hotbar in the way most intuitive to you (recharge time, alpha attack damage, etc).4) I think I remember in old Everquest, monks not wanting to carry around much weight - is this still a concern? - Nope. I carry 3 strongboxes with ease (even unbuffed).

It's easy to make some coin, but have to work for it.Make friends in game, join a nice guild, harvest yourself some rares, sell the ones you don't need for money and use the one you can use to get yourself some armor or weapon made. Friends or guildees will make it for free or just the cost of fuel needed for the tradeskill. There's absolutely no need to spend "tons of gold" on overpriced items.

While im sure everyone started out with a few copper - over the years inflation has probably taken its toll price wise and the lack of low level players has impacted the supply.I doubt people were trying to sell low level items for tens of gold or even a platinum back in the day.Sadly im walking into a minimum wage income in a very inflated environment so it probably makes it worse. But your right, I can join a guild and try and sponge of them

I know what you mean, but it doesn't matter. You don't need anyone to go harvest nodes for raws/rares or kill easy thrash mobs for "merchant fodder".Anything you can get on the broker you can get yourself from friends/guildees, if only you put time and effort in it...
