Vim cast on a mage with more than 750 Int is widely considered an inefficient use of the spell. What about Agitate cast on Scouts who rip aggro with it? Would you put it on an Assassin knowing you'll end up healing them more (lowering your DPS) and he'll risk dying (lowering his DPS and the DPS of the Paladin or Bard who rezzes him)? Has anyone done any comparative parses to see how much Agitate contributes on raids?

Shirrar70 Fury-100AAFellowship of the DragonAntonia Bayle

Had this conversation recently in guild with the raid leaders, having always had agitate on hard hitting assassins etc.. and have had a rethink as a result.

Basically the proc of +60 dps and attack speed is less significant to a scout who's already doing enormous amounts of aggro, than it would be to someone doing less melee dps. Personally I'd stick it on the MT (if in MT group which is probably unlikely and v situational) or on a fighter type or lower DPS class. You don't want to stick it on someone who's doing under par DPS really, but a mid range DPS player will really benefit from it.

I'm usually in the caster DPS group and sometimes dont have any melee players to put it on. I occasionally get a ranger, but that's a waste imo. So often I keep it on myself as I auto attack most encounters.Otherwise, if I have a fighter class in my group, it'll go on them. After that, it'll go on a swashy. (I play on a PvP server, good side, so am limited with who i get in my group).

I work out of two grps usually, depending on raid make up. I'm either in the caster grp with a troub, or in the scout/OT grp where I stick agigtate on the brig first or OT second. If I see the brig always taking damage, I'll move it the OT. In caster grp i always give it to the troub.

It really depends on the buffs that the melee folks have (as others have pointed out).It has the best bang for the buck though on melee scouts (assuming they aren't at/near the dps/haste diminishing returns area). It will generate Much more dps for example on a swashie/brigand/assasin in a group having no other big dps/haste buffs than it would on a bard/fighter type similarly not buffed, no contest really. If adding the buff makes agro destabilize then I would fix the agro issue not put it on a class that doesn't utilize it as much. If the scouts(except ranger as not great buff for them) are all suitably buffed up and don't really benefit from it then I would put it on a bard/fighter.For example one type of power dps group would be..Illusionist/fury/mage /mage /troub/ dps scout, in this case agitate goes on the scout without question. There is a reason that raids try and organize buffs that benefit the dps folks, they typically will yield the most benefit for them.D

Really just depends on which group I am in. If I am in the squishie group, I give it to the squishie that will do the most damage, but won't give me a heart attack while doing it. If I am in a group with a scout and no sk, the scout gets it, otherwise the sk, or whoever begs me the bestest!!! I enjoy the begging

Single groups I tend to leave it on myself as I'll be DPS'ing frequently unless we're in pretty deep.

For raids it's always on my group MT. It's infrequent when I'm in a group with all casters or rogues anymore but I used to just leave it on myself unless someone asked for it and DPS when I could.
