I went with Circular Strikes as its pretty much your only AOE.

i looked for the best damage to recast ratio as possible. hard to say now, since i dont know the damage and recast timers, but i would go with flurry.

I always consider 4 things when deciding on which Master 2 upgrade to select:-

First, which one will last the most levels before being replaced? A complete list of abilities and spells together with replacements can be found here: http://www.eq2ref.com/abilities/ . Incidentally, I never delay getting the upgrade because time is running out, particularly at low-mid levels when levelling is quick, so I try to plan ahead a little.

Second, which one do I, or if there are new ones, will I in all probability, use the most? For example, I might have a choice between a single target attack and an AOE attack. I will use the former in every fight but might not always use the latter if it draws other mobs into the action. It's not the only factor, but it's an important one.

Third, how does my playstyle relate to the choice on offer and the advice I'm reading on the boards? I'm a soloer, so I don't, for example, upgrade abilities that increase my hate - the mobs hate me enough already! If, on the other hand, I was a grouper I would consider which role I most often performed and which enhanced ability would support that role the most. Similarly, if posters are recommending a particular skill, gear or AA spec I want to know how their playstyle compares to mine.

Fourth, I narrow down the choice to a couple of options then check prices for Master 1 upgrades on the broker. The difference between Master 1 and Master 2 may not be so great and if you can get a Master 2 plus a Master 1 off the broker for a reasonable price then I'd rather have that combination than a different Master 2 and have to make do with an Adept 1 on the other ability.

That's how it works for me, I haven't regretted any upgrade decisions yet, hope it helps others.
