Hello, I'm new to the game and am trying to find the class that is right for me. I have been reading the boards, and I think bruiser would be the right fit for me. I just have a couple questions about the class.

1) I like to solo without very much downtime, is this possible with the bruiser?

2) Ive been reading about soloing named mobs, which seems like a fun challenge... is it actually possible?

3) What tradeskill should I take up, and should I start harvesting right away, or is it a good idea to put it on hold?

4) Any other tips for a new player.

Pretty much I'm a person who likes to solo, but I don't really enjoy playing casters... is bruiser the best fit for me, and if its not, what would you guys recommend?

Thanks a lot for the help!

I enjoy my bruiser but as far as fighters go...my SK is the best solo'er by far. The bruiser is in the middle somewhere while my berserker is dead last and retired.

1. Bruiser is a very quick solo'er. We can train a bunch of mobs and then FD them off. FD means you will almost never die so you can avoid costly repair bills and long runs back from the revive point.2. Bruiser is a great mid-game name killer. By the mid level 40s you will be able to kill every named in RE and even really hard named that no other class would dream of trying to solo like Everling. By level 70 other classes will be better named killers such Wizards, Coercers, Necros, Conjurers, Shadow Knights, Brigands, and Swashbucklers. 3. Alchemist until about the mid 30s and then just farm masters and other gear. 4. Remember every class can solo if played right but not every class is needed in the end game. Also consider that alts are cheap and you should make a few to try out some other classes before deciding on a main to take to end game

(Before you ask, no I don't sell em, I'm saving for RoK =P)

Sure a Wizzy can probably take down harder mobs than me.. I haven't yet been able to solo the last name in nest, which I'm pretty sure a fair few other classes can, but what I CAN do is solo ALL of SoS, minus the x2 and ALL of Catacombs, including Seneschal. Show me a wizzy who can do that with the ease of a bruiser.

Bruiser is an incredibly fun soloer, we stand toe to toe and take the beating, wizzies are pansies imo

I have a 70 Wiz and Bruiser. Bruisers can get to mobs in minutes that other classes would have to take hours to get to. I can run SoS even without FD and clean up every named down there. I solo PP in under 40 mins (just the 4 named upstairs) and MM catacombs are a breeze.
A wiz is nice to take down tough mobs that are easy to get to. Bruisers go where they darn well please
