STR/AGI Swash - Leather or Chain?

Hey,I am building a STR/AGI swash and I am new to EQ2, firstly what a great game <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Played WoW, SWG and EnB. Totally enjoying it.Anyhow, I had a cursory glanse through this forum and couldn't see what I needed, don't flame me if I missed it but are we better in Leather or Chain mail? I see the STR/AGI stats I need on Leather (I am level 20) should I go with that? Does it make a huge difference? Many thanks in advance for helping.

Go with chain, you will find throughout all tiers that there is chain with suitable stats for a swashy, and the extra mitigation from the chain will help on occasions when you are soloing

<p>Welcome to EQ2.  To answer your question, we are a chain wearing class.  To equip leather is only hurting your physical damage mitigation.  So, look for chain gear.  There are a very few select instances at top end game where there is an exception to this rule, due to specific dps boosting effects on a specific item or two, but other than that, always go chain.</p><p>Laer</p>

Take chain whenever you can when only gearing for stats.Once you get into taking into account procs, +effects, and +crit instead of stats and mitigation there are some very nice leather pieces.In most cases the mitigation difference between wearing a piece of chain compared to a piece of leather at lvl 70 is going to be ~100 mitigation, which with the current way mitigation works, is nothing.Go with the pieces that best suit your character, shore up your weakest points and you can actually attain.Do not let people pigeon hole you into just chain mail because that is the highest armor class you can wear. Swashbucklers can also equip leather and cloth if they so want, the armor permits, and the piece suits them.
