I really wish it was easier to find info about npc's and places in Everquest 2.

I wish there was a site somewhere by SOE,or someone else, where you could look up every single NPC in the game...and area and read about the history around it.Example ... Holly Windstalker....The lonely Gnome in Wailing Caves....The man who wants his wives special chruncies in starcrest. I wanna read about NPCs that you dont hear anythig about.Forest Ruins.....Ruins Of Valmarr....Sunken City... etc.I actually foudn some info ones about Holly...and also read abit about Stormhold...thats when i started getting intrested in this.

But often its hard to find all the history...or there are none at all.

Actually, there's tons of lore about places, Sunken City in particular. If you want info about the various districts around Freeport, the newbie quests provide quite a bit of info (for Sunken City, the guy on the docks starts the quests, he tells you quite a bit about the area). For individual NPCs, there's not a lot, with a few exceptions.

Holly Windstalker has more about her, since she was an NPC in EQ. Essentially, she was a very zealous ranger who used to roam Qeynos Hills. In EQ, the bears and wolves in Qeynos hills were on a faction that was related to the Surefall Ranger/Druid guilds, and if Holly Windstalker or Cros Treewind happened by when you were killing a bear or a wolf, they'd aggro you. Holly and Cros were around level 30, where most of the wolves and bears were 6-10 (was a fairly low level zone), so Holly became infamous and hated by many Qeynosian.

There's also a boot out entitled EQII Atlas that has lore about many of the zones.

If you're looking for lore information, I'd suggest the following sites

The History of Norrath by Lumena Naktame: a site no longer being updated, but, in my humble opinion, one of the best sites, as it catalogues not only lore from EQ2, but lore from EQ as well.

Eiwyn's Library: a site compiling all the books Eiwyn has amassed in her tenure playing EQ2. I believe she is still updating the site, but I am not certain.

The Athenaem: another site listing the books and other lore snippets amassed by a player, this one being Rapha (odds are, you can find various posts made by her on these forums without too much difficulty). I find this one a little bit more organized than Eiwyn's but I think Eiwyn's might be more comprehensive. Rapha has also had the opportunity to speak to the lore devs a time or two, and has the results of those interviews on her site.

These are all comprehensive lore sites, meaning, they try to put up any lore they come across.

There are a few books that talk about the various areas surrounding the cities, in the guise of Creature Catalogues, but I find these books to be grossly uninformative, unfortunately, and can be a bear to complete yourself.

Hope this helps!

There's nothing better than experiencing these NPC's firsthand and doing thier quests. Many NPC's, however, are just what you see of them, and really have no background to them. The gnome in Wailing Caves for example.

Although this hijack probably doesn't belong the the H&L forums, I agree, and I think that any faction we can decrease by killing something, we should be able to increase by killing something else. The Enchanted Reapers, for example. What's the use of having a faction that we can only make worse and worse? Why not just make them all KoS and be done with it. I think it would be awesome to be able to kill the goody goody halflings, and become an agent for the Shadowedmen: Enchanted Lands campeign!

The three links are the best also add EQ2i to the list mostly for the major questline timelines. I hear it's a Wiki now.

As for Wu the questlines seems to peter out with Lu Sun (Any realtion to the EQ1 Lu Sun of the Silent Fist Dojo???) wich leaves me dead in the water if I want to tackle the rift for the Wu-stick.
